Technically it is not a macro shot, just a close up. What makes it great is the composition and exposure.

@ samurai - i am but a novice at this. i love the art but am so not into the technical aspects. thank you for the correction.

@jkdas - well .. fish eggs for sure, unfortunately i do not consume this. i am a strictly meat only person. do not eat any other 'parts' but thank you for the consideration all the same

Wow. lookin at few pics that were posted in this thread, I was wondering whether I'll get a photo of that high calibre. But luck being on my side a day back, i stumbled upon this on my site.

Experiments with ufraw

I am trying to get my RAW workflow right in GIMP.

Here I adjust curves and exposure in raw file itself and adjust highlights, to bring out the max dynamic range. The penalty in increased noise in shadow areas

Good one..

Which s/w you use to create HDRs? Photoshop? I use photoshop, I tried to create three or four HDRs so far, but it all comes out bad. I use the method local adaptation but its very difficult to get one right.
