I might have read the manual atleast 25 times in a span of 6 months, therefore experimenting my best on the Shutter priority. I find it anyday better than the auto mode. I am yet to try the full Manual mode.

Learning stage is really exciting. My night snaps with flash ON were very bad, later I came to know that the default flash value was very low. Increased the value to FULL and now I have to adjust the aperture for the correct exposure.

The overexcitement to get a prime lens is ruling my days now, you guys have inspired me to put a 'macro' also in the list today. Lets see, I might exchange my 18-55 kit lens to a 17-70 sigma 2.8 macro as the budget permits.

Not sure whether I have posted this before, but since the theme is spiders and insects, here's one from my side.

For those who are fed up of the bugs and spideys, here is a 9 month old feet ! I think we are not using the subjects available at home enough, so this is an answer to that.

Shaju,

Awesome composition!!! Just wish the right leg was a little more sharp (esp the toes), but I am not complaining .

Ok, so the strobist in me woke up. Though, I didn't manage to make a softbox as per Rudra Sir's instructions, I did shoot using a flash + A4 paper (used it as the diffuser/reflectors).

Lessons learnt:
(i) Get/Make a BIG softbox when you want to shoot sunglasses (or any other parabolic reflective surface). The reflections are annoying :(.
(ii) Always clean your subject.

Ok, so here are the photographs. First iphone photograph is okayish. The edge definition is very nice, but I hate the reflection on the screen. I like the second iPhone photograph as the screen has come out very well but I should have added a reflector at the top to make the top edge definition even better.

I had to shoot the sunglass in this angle as I was really going crazy with reflections. And this was the best angle for me to minimize them :/. The difference in both the pictures is the direction of light.

C&C please. what works? what doesn't? Also, suggestions on how to improve these shots would greatly help me (and how to manage the stupid reflections :().

Exif: Mostly f11 with about 20 sec shutter speed. I was shooting in Av mode as I do not have a remote control to shoot in bulb mode. The lens used is nifty fifty.

It rained quite heavily in the evening, the reflections on the ground made me think of taking this portrait. I purposely chose the higher shutterspeed as i was in an awkward position clicking this, so there was chance of shake.
