@TG: Wonderful landscape. Thanks for explaining the process. The sky is desaturated and there is a dark to light gradient from top to bottom excluding the clouds, so that also was part of PP right.?
@praful: Beautiful! Could haev lit up the nearby grass a bit more.

@Clevermax
That is not separately worked upon, its the effect of the overlay process, mainly due to the existing luminance gradient.

Oh I see. I usually try to reduce the levels by adding a new levels layer, and then apply a gradient mask on it to get the sky like that. Now I learned a new technique, thanks TG! Yea I understand that the sky has to have a luminance gradient for this to work.

@VTEC: Can't see the pics, is it only me?

OT, but the Alfa picture I posted in flickr came in explore on 20th and initial rank was 286/500. Yesterday when I checked it went upto 46/500 and now it is 31/500! My best ever rank in explore, beating 34/500 for my lens shot. Interestingly, both are almost black&white shots with some selective colors.

BTW, there is a site which helps you easily find whether any of your photos have been in explore.

Congrats sunil, So finally you proved that your photograpy skills have outperformed my lucky fingers. Win something and lets split it right in the middle.

That's not sad. That's the sign on company going green. Less steel used -> less demand -> less production -> less pollution. Instead of using metal, very good use of natural resources too. Use of coir -> natural substance -> bio-degradable->more demand for coir->more production->more jobs for poor people.

Thanks pramod & preetam

Clever I heard you are shining in the flickr community. So where is the party ?

I am working on some DIY project on strobes and home-made lights. Lets see how far I can go. Learning is always fun and the fact is; it never ends in life !!

Thanks for the feedback samurai,

I am still learning, this DIY box was held in one hand and camera clicked with other. I have no idea about what settings do what and trust me experimenting with a strobist at such a nascent stage is surly an overkill, Please help me understand what is wrong and also let me know what could have been done to improve this shot.
