Hyderabad experienced a mild thunderstorm over the weekend.

I recorded a video out of it. Then I tore the frames out.

The series are n chronological order.
I never knew that one lightening strike is actually 2 hits.

Finally I am here with some real macros ! My new Tamron 90mm macro at work. Its very tough to focus a macro lens than I ever imagined and heard, specially when we try 1:1 macro, even my own breathing causes a shake. . I think mastering macro requires lot of patience and experiments which I just started today.

Wow! Liked the first (housefly?) and last one of damselfly. Hope you did a good tweaking for PS settings, now the green looks very natural and lovely

Thanks Jac, its not housefly. All of them are from the lakeside. Editing difference is; now I am shooting only RAW, no more JPEGs.

@Shaju
Beautiful shots! I too picke dup a 100 mm macro manual focus lens from a shop that was clearing out all its lenses. It's a vivitar and cost me just 40 dollars. So I thought let me give it a go! Havent started shooting with it yet though.

Meanwhile, I was going to college on a Sunday morning to do some work in the lab. Thats when I watched how the culture of my country was being made minced meat of.

TG, your shots are documentary type I believe, but only an Indian can do this in a foreign country (using gods for making money as entertainment to the public). Its pitiable than wearing a chaddi of the country flag ! We discuss only photographs here, so I dont think I created any religious or sentimental remarks !

Good that you shot them, atleast we know whats happening outside !

@TG: Sad to see this. Who was running this, an Indian?

Here, Indian culture is viewed as a very sell-able tantric something. This was a fair on the streets of San Francisco, which emphasized on the this so called tantric lifestyle. The ignorant section of the west sees Indian culture as just another colorful playground to go and have fun.

I dont think its indians who run this...but Indians are involved for sure. They are having fun I believe, to which I have no offense actually...to each his own. But when I saw this, something inside of me made me go a little week in the knees. It was painful to watch people not understand the meaning of what they were doing, and being ignorant to the point where their actions can leave a lot of sentiments hurt.

Amit, it was a nice idea to introduce blur to the unwanted regions of the pic, but the blur at the base of the tree along the house looks unnatural, and thereby spoils your effort.

First pic here from EOS 550D

Hi members,

This is my first pic from the 550D. I'm sure I'm not remotely close to extract what the camera can produce, with respect to my skill level.

Yet I'll keep learning and try to make compositions worthy of a photograph. Appreciate any C&C you could pass for helping me improve. Thanks.

I thought my image below [2nd] didn't seem right, so tried toning it down a bit. I don't know if that has happened, or if it has become any worse. Will leave it up to you folks to decide and let me know.
