Nice nice, should give it a try sometime. I don't have any lense which has VR or IS hence will have to try it the hand-held way.

Thanks for the offer Dilip , I aint in town this weekend. Once am back we sure can catch up for a shoot. Instead of trying Nandi hills why dont you try Hessarghatta ? The place where Rudra and a few us had gone for a shoot initially was pretty neat. Good for a few landscape shots and you always have Kuteeram Retreat(Nrityagram) for the portraits .

The First two Pics were taken by friends of mine
1. at a camp site close to here
2. on a trip off poona
3. view from my room at the above mentioned camp site

I'm trying to compress these pics on Photoshop and save as jpeg with lower(est) quality, is there a better way to do this on MacOSX?

Instead of reducing the quality, reduce the resolution to some thing like 800x600 and keep the quality to max.

If you want dramatic skies this time of the year, you better be on the west coast of india. every evening has been great for the last 1 week. this pic probably looks like every other pic I've posted on this thread, but...
I cant resist skies like this.

Shot in RAW, edited in PS3, aperture priority mode, with exposure that seemed to last for ever( I was shooting handheld)
Location- Palluruthy, Cochin.

Breathtaking picture Rippergeo. You seem to get better and better in landscape pictures.

What was the aperture and shutter speed? Also, do let us know what type of edits made in PS3!

Why dont you share some pictures with other themes?

thanks mobike
aperture was 13
ISO 200
exposure 2 secs

cropped, straightened the horizon slightly(on Picasa), Adjusted curves(PS3). thats it!

I keep shooting pics like this because it takes me only 2-3 mins to get to the spots from where I live/work. so I look out the window, see a nice sky, I'm out running to the car with my canon. I shoot for 15 minutes, come back, and work.

other sceneries get posted only from archives or when I take a trip, which has not happened in months. so you see the same kind of pics from me all the time.

hhehe, I was lucky, really! my hands actually shake a lot. But I did hold my breath while clicking, and also used the timer to take the shot for me.
