Nameless

An old photograph which I processed out of boredom and laziness. The lady was selling scarfs at a fair. The brilliant sunshine was masked by her hat and it cast a beautiful shadow over her eyes. I could only capture a glimpse of her beautiful eyes before she got aware of getting photographed and turned her head down. I wish I could show her this photograph...

Last week I'd been to NewCastle, England. A picture taken from the Tyne riverside. It feels so good to be back in the hot and humid Kerala!!

Wonderful Shots @rj. Surprisingly there is hardly any noise even at 1600.

Getting candid portraits is extremely difficult. Nice work.

@clevermax: Good composition..

First shot!

Hi guys,

Some really good shots in the past few pages in this thread. The quality has been continually increasing - I've browsed through more than 100 pages.

Here are some recent shots from Uttaranchal (Corbett National Park and Almora). This is not my usual style of photography and is really my first attempt at wildlife, I'm posting these simply because they're the most recent on my flickr.

All shots with a Sony Alpha A300 and Sony 18-250 lens. My kit includes a Tamron 17-50 f2.8 and a vintage Minolta 50 1.7 as well. Will have fun uploading shots here!

...and now for my favorites from the trip:

Cheers!

These days I have become extremely rare visitor to this thread. Busy at work and house is getting renovated since 50 days.

I saw this photo few days back, but didn't have time to comment. I am very impressed with the mood you have captured, the softness is just right. My wife has been asking for ever to shoot her image in this style, but I am falling short. The portrait lens I have is Zuiko 50mm F/2, an incredible lens. It is also a 1:2 macro lens and is extremely sharp. So far I have been unable to get the softness I want. I guess PP is the only way to get it. What kind of metering did you use for this shot?

I didn't understand this one. If exposure is +0.25, how come exposure bias is 0EV? Is this in full manual?

My camera has been locked away since the renovation work, so no new shots. Here is one from old stock.

Welcoming monsoon...

Samurai,

The warmify, desaturate and glow functions in picasa (in that order) can easily bring this quality to a decent picture.

I don't think sharpness is the key here. and when you adjust glow etc, you will need to re-adjust exposure anyway.
