In the learning stage we keep making disastrous mistakes. The latest one being, missing on the tripod when I knew very well that I would be shooting in night.

Ended up screwing all pics, exposure time needed to be more. This one is the only one which my hands could steady for 1/2 sec exposure. No means to support.

Yes your are spot on, that's the Hornet breaking the Sound Barrier.
@Pawan
Some more sky, would have balanced the picture a lot more.

A few more shots.

By the way, I guess that photography is prohibited inside the stadium. How did you manage to hide the camera?

Do upload more from the series. ( I know that you have more pictures with you)

Thanks Amith !

@TG: Awesome shots.

@arvind: Which lens were you using?

Guys..I have posted my Ranganathittu and Kabini travelogue in the travelogues section. Thought about posting pics here but didnt want to annoy everyone with monotonous birding shots.

Give me some food before you find your soul !!!
The Official non-auto Image thread-fb-9.jpg

I found my soul and am back with a bang !
Surprisingly I am asked to cover 2 events this week in a first-time serious level, although I have not thought about commercializing this hobby so far, and not even daring to think that way until I master the art of photography. One event will be tonight (3 hours) and second one for coming weekend (3 hours).

I wish to cover some concerts for learning, please let me know if someone is interested in joining me. There is one in Bangalore city, coming Saturday night, Don Moen Live. Front row tickets are priced at Rs.1400, but I am checking if some journalistic passes are possible (not expecting anything free) .

If anyone has concert coverage exposure, please PM or post here whats required (eg: tripod, primes, teles, accessories etc.). I have decided to push myself very hard !

No words to express myself. Seen such snaps only in mag ads .

Hi All,

My DSLR jouney started, success rate is less than 5% .

Sharing one to start with, inviting your valuable critiques! This was clicked yesterday near Cumbom while returning from Kerala. No post processing except resizing.

The Official non-auto Image thread-img_0528.jpg

Exif : 1/320 shutter, F8, IS0 100 (Dont ask me why I chose this settings, being my first series of clicks my focus was on right exposure)

Thats from a Sigma 150-500 F5-6.3

@Rudra
Beautiful.. Precise yet subtle.

@jacs
It a bit overexposed. Else pretty decent.
