Guys, I am facing a problem with my 500D. I selected the option of shooting in RAW+JPG, but when I tried transferring the pics, the both the pics were in JPG! Is anyone aware of this issue?

Few from the recent trip.
We had to trek for almost 2 hours to reach here.
We climbed 500 meters from 1550 meters to reach this high meadow

All pics with Tamron 10-24 and IR 720 filter. Hotspot issue is there with this lens, so I shoot at 15mm and above to minimize hotspot.

I'm not expert here but since using 1000D which is from same Canon family, do check the software settings whether auto conversion of CR2 files is enabled for image transfers from cam. I remember seeing similiar settings (JPEG or TIFF conversion) while trying to process CR2 format.

Good ones, is he single and ready to mingle ?
I think bit of hair gel and a remote flash or natural day light could do wonderful portrait experiments, try if you have time.

I am experimenting with various wavelengths and focal lengths.
720nm is not giving me the results I desire, as the white balance even with RAW does not enable me to shift the spectrum so much that the trees are white. Next time I will use 850nm filter, and try to get even weirder colors!

I'd say, he is still a kid. Thank you. Dont have a flash unit as of now. Thats next on my list.

Beautiful pics of your girl. Your night pics have shown a huge leap in quality post f/1.8 acquisition. Hoping to learn more from this.

I don't really remember. I have so many of them.
Cost ranges for 1200 odd for the Near Red ones, and the 850nm etc., true infra red ones cost me around 1500-2000
Hope to recover some of my costs by selling the 58mm filters I do not need

BTW, my latest aquisition if a 46mm 850nm filter for the Panny FZ35. Can't wait to try it out. I expect total Black and white kind of look with such strong infrared.
