Thanks TG and Shaju.

As the lake was lower than the walkway and bordered by caged wall, couldn't go low on angle. But thats a good suggestion, I already started working on capturing shots at eye level.

Cropping? Little bit of cropping since Nifty-fifty is what I use 90% of the time and no teles in my bag.

Garbage! Yes its a distraction and I couldnt avoid it since time was critical while shooting. Chetan did some PP and the image was much much better.

@ Chetan, please post the edited version for me.

Your winter collection is totally a different league ! Did you attend any photography workshop ? I find an immediate change in your style (leading lines, positioning of subject etc.)

Thanks for 'not liking' my previous post, hope this is better

@shaju
I see a lot of flat light in most of your shots these days, maybe time to look at Light!

@pawan
It could be the lens or a combination of both lens and sensor. I have used the Mark2 a number of times with certain L series lenses and boy oh boy, they do kick some serious butt.Very nice shot of the winter tree, I wish the line of the road lead me towards the tree rather than lead me out of the shot.

Probably because they are shot in a flat
I am failing to implement light at its best, my previous post had a question about how you manage your white lines/light etc. that meant my inability to understand the basics, so checking for some materials on how to improve. These days Gurus are silent, so I am pleading them to be talking.

I think I should sit back and see the images coming from your side, there is a lot to catch up regardless of the subject. Above ones are superb, I wish if I could post one closer to that sooner. Sometimes I feel I covered 10% of the learning, next moment I realize its not even started

Time to take that flash off-camera?

Went home last weekend- and two pics of my bubbly neighbour. Shot with 55-250 at 250mm, but was surprised with the sharpness and bokeh. 55-250 is real VFM!

Thanks Pawan, I am waiting for Chetan to post an edited one removing the garbage. This snap is really nice but one humble request is to change your signature not to take the attention from the lovely shots you post .

CD, Good for a shot at 250mm. Could you please share more some shots from your 55-250? I am hunting for a tele-lens but my budget shows light only to Canon 55-250 IS and Sigma 70-300 APO DG Macro. Trying to find one to enable me some tele-shots till I get fund for a good tele glass.

Previous one was better. But they does look normal shot. Again, this is newbee openion.

No, I havent attend any workshop. But for last few days I have no work in office. And whole day I am spending on looking at lot of photos on flickr and try to understand why that photo looks better. I try to understand everything from good photos, like at what angle and where the object is placed. Seems like this helping me to understand good composition

Thanks for the imagination, this help me in thinking towards good composition. The place where I shot my winter photos is near to my house. Next time I will try to find out such composition.

Earlier I was thinking to buy used Mark II body from ebay. But people are crazy while bidding. 2 year old body goes above 1500 EUR. Now I will buy new body. I am only waiting for the 2011, do not want to buy in December which will add 1 year of usage within a month .

Signature changed in my next winter shot. I am selling my 6 month, 20 images old 55-250 IS. The drawback of this lens is, it needs lot of light at 250mm and you will not be able to do the bird photography. I would suggest to wait until you can save for some good lens. I found Canon 100mm Macro is the best for portrait.

Flash is not used in any of these images, I am yet to find out the reason for 'flat' effect, never used the on-camera flash of D90 till date.
