Those spirals and marks that we see on the photos, is it because of the film not being in the top condition ? I am just guessing, no idea about the differences between digital and film shooting. Hope my questions are not too stupid.
Thanks dude.
Some of these were during a street photography workshop, at Los Angeles, conducted by John Free, a well known photojournalist, that was primarily aimed at how to get closer to your subjects and how to compose a story using multiple elements instead of a single element shot(which too can work sometimes).

Those are dust and scratches, which get scanned in when I scan the film digitally. The resolution is high, and it really shows well. Film is very fragile, and scratches and oily fingerprints are a risk and concern. Professionals often wear white lint free cotton gloves when handling any film, I too should I try to keep my fingers off the film surface, but sometimes there are scratches on the film itself other times its just dust or lint.

F80 is a wonderful body! Glad you still use it. What kinda film do you use?

I have one roll loaded on my camera and must have around 20 more exposures to go. I should probably get some rolls and keep them around. I haven't tried any color film yet, may be velvia would be a nice one to start off with.
Tri X is very much available.Do not go for Velvia unless you have a place nearby where they process Velvia rolls. Velvia rolls are positive film, not negative and thus they have a different chemical process. They are meant to be slides for projections. Check this out, its a portrait of a friend, shot on the F3 with Fujifilm Velvia 100 film. I placed my developed velvia film over my table lamp and took a shot of it with an iphone.

And here is the scanned variant of the same.

Thanks TG. I have a Fuji Superia 100 right now and have also used Kodak Tmax 400 (B&W) when I was in Germany. There itself, the cost difference was something like EUR 1.xx for the colour and EUR 4.xx for the B&W. Here in India, it's increasingly difficult to source the films (or maybe I'm not trying hard enough!)

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Guys, is it fine for a amateur photography enthusiast like me to open a photography page on facebook and share pics over there?

It really depends on your desire to open up such a page.

Facebook photography pages - they are owned by a lot of people across the photography talent gamut. Professionals, talented amatures, hobbyists, and also by people who don't know a thing about photography.
