The journey has just begun and there is a long way to go.

Here`s a shot from my collection. May be I am deviating from the theme?

Thanks.

That is a Russell's Viper, which is responsible for the most number of snake bite deaths in India. I was forced to be ~ 6 feet away from it (since I was using a 70-300mm), bending down as I clicked. Was sorely tempted to take the shot lying down (6 inches from ground - the composition would have been interesting), but that would have been taxing my guardian angel a bit.

OT: I am not sure whether that snake is injured or not, noticed only when looking at the photos. Any snake Gurus here?

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

Guys,

Offlate I was reading some atricles to learn the basics of post-processing as per the feedbacks recieved on some of my photographs. photography-on-the.net gave me some basic guidelines and here's my experiment with one of the dullest in my collection. Still not matured to RAW, its JPEG in JPEG out. Your valuable suggestions welcome, corrections made were in terms of color mode, shadow correction, level correction.

Hi Praveen,

I just followed the steps suggested in the below link to get this out put. And ofcourse resizing to meet our <1M file size. http://photography-on-the.net/forum/...ad.php?t=34934. PS CS5 was used for this experiment since I got access to one. I believe we can hook to even open software GIMP as well. I would let the experts on our forum to suggest.

Congrats Veeresh You're becoming a Guru in street photos. I really appreciate your work.

Now hope to emulate you with my cute little MLCs.

PS - Some really nice contributions from hitherto unknown (in this thread) members. Clevermax's photos are great as always.
Thanks R2D2, not quite there yet . Still need to work a lot on the composition and timing, I think.

In the spirit of spring, here are a few from me:

The flower macros seem to be your signature stuff, saw the spring ones and immediately thought this must be coming from HW, scrolling up only to confirm the guess

Thanks Jacs I have some very interesting bee shots, some of which are really detailed ones. Will find those & try putting them up as well :-)

- How did you get the dull picture in the first place? Did you process in PS?
- Try to shoot RAW mode, and get that into DPP (I know you have a Canon!)
- From DPP export a TIFF and process that TIFF in PS/LR etc.

Your source itself now should be corrected. Nothing can process colours better than vendor's native S/W (DPP in this case).
