You mean you knocked over the tripod? You couldn't have been trying it handheld.

Samurai like I said, I dont have a tripod as yet. Did a balancing act on a park bench while shooting the below pic and lost patience.

Nope, just press once in bulb mode for shutter open(on the remote). Then press again to close shutter.

Yeah i do the same, with the remote shutter release. But i have seen some devices where you can set the time and i tht you were using one of them..as you give precise secs.

can anyone tell me what are these whitish spots which i have marked are called? they come up in pics which are shot using flash at night. How to avoid them?

BTW the cam is Canon S5IS
