The trick is to use low as ISO possible(in this case 100), increase saturation just slightly and apply a USM of .5(50%) with radii 5 and 0 threshhold to give the sharpness.
n_aditya, Flowers are beautiful by themselves, you have to do very little to make them stand out.

This was taken on the way to Kodaikanal. Pic may not be of good quality but i liked this very much. Especially the eyes of the smaller one.

quality is overshadowed by the concept.

and what made you think, the quality is bad. I see the background is completely blurred and the subject is clear. (may be the pros can put in some words.)

good one.

Thanks Raj.

I was never worried about the quality of photography until i started following this thread. In the past taking photos would be like pull out the camera take a pic put it back. But now number of things pop up in my head when i think about taking a pic, thanks to this thread.

here i come with the next one on the same day around the same time, but this time, the pic is of the hyderabad city as it appears in the evening from Gandipet, there was a slight shake as I was using slower shutter speeds. Again no photoshoping, but cropped the image in mspaint. Though not a great shot, i like it for the blue color of the evening sky.
