forgot about that
That some pretty good photo. If you could post the original (for comparison) that wouldbe great.

But this pic is breathtaking.

here's the original. Not much to look at is it? Imagine my dissapointment, the scene was so beautiful that it took my breath away. and all I could do with an expensive Digital SLR was the shot posted below.
luckily, I managed to rescue that pic.
it is still nowhere as pretty as it was, but its better than the original.

also attached is a post processed shot of the only HDR pic that I've taken

Hi ripper, here is my version. I did it using Picasa since I don't have PS at work.

I like ripper's PS attempt. Though some part of the sky is burnt....it looks more alive.

@hellcat- that looks like the real life scene I remember.
time to try lightroom.

@jk- its only my 2nd day with photoshop. give me some time, and see what happens
as for avoiding lens glare- it was beyond me. I just had to try and capture the scene, even though I knew that the pic would break the most basic rule in scene lighting.

below is the link to my flickr account. the 1st page has my experiments with PS.
It would be nice if I could get critiques from you guys.

I was trying to get something close to reality, but picasa has its limitations. Ok, here is my final attempt from CS2. I have tried retain some colors on the trees too.

yeah! tell me about it. its great that we get a free peice of software that is so versatile from google. but, like you said, it has its limitations.

I still like Hellcat's version better.
would however, like to know how You and hellcat brought out the colour in the trees.

layer work? I will continue plugging away till I'm good as you guys!

Layers? I didn't spend more than two minutes on your images. I only have 2 years experience on CS2, I wouldn't know anything more to do after 5 minutes.

@samurai-
Kambala!!!! where was this? always wanted to go when i was in that part of the country, but exams kept me away.
got any other angles?
was this pic shot under natural or artificial light?

attached below is a Pic from near Mararikulam Beach, which is roughly 30kms away from home.

attached below that is the original image. I know the post processed one looks poorly finished, but its the best I could do. this is another from my vast collection of pics that have the sun shining right into the lens
