When I logged on G+ yesterday, while signing in it compulsarily linked my Picasa account to the G+ one. Now, that isn't good when it comes to private albums, is it?
Any work around or do we stop sharing personal pics on Picasa altogether? |
Go to Photos --> Your albums.
Select the album you want and edit the settings.
"Visible to: Public (edit)"

Got a set of requests for an invite. Guys send me your gmail ID. Just saying me wont help :D |
SF - thanks for responding to request immediately. However I haven't got my invite yet. :-(
Guys can anyone send me an invite as well?
I have tried to sign in but to no avail. Left my email id for future communications. But if somebody can send me an invite, would love that?
Thanks for anybody in anticipation.
Signups seem to be blocked right now. Got an invite (from kri$hna, thanks :)), but can't get in.
may be google is trying to recreate the gmail hype, where everybody wanted an invite for gmail.
I for one am waiting for this social networking mania to end soon. I don't want my life on the internet but out here in the real world.
Thank you, but no thank you.
interesting, I haven't signed up yet, but I am able to +1 on my blog. Had been seeing this +1 for a while and was ignoring it.
I would like to comment on the work philosophy in Google. They have a four day week in most Western countries and Friday is off for your personal work. Saturday and Sunday are off. In India they follow a five day week, but on Friday's the employees go to office and do no work but do something on their own, maybe their own work too.
The office's have creche's were working couples can be free from worries about their infants and little children.
The employees have time to devote to their creativity always. Each response and suggestion is aptly taken care of by the management and if feasible implemented. The employee feels wanted. They thus make a "big impact". This is what they also call "quick change" and "more freedom" in management. The company also calls this "controlled freedom".
They also take care of employee engagement as all employees including the talents and toxic talents must feel engaged. An engaged employee Says,Stays and Strives. A disengaged employee feels unwanted, creates disharmony among other employees and poses a great risk to any company.
Google takes care of all these factors.:)
But Facebook is also marching ahead and its Google versus Facebook now.
I'm yet to get into G+ but read on the other thread that you can do a +1 on almost anything that you come across and the same would ne reflected on our
G+. Already with the web history enabled, Google knows more about you, your pattern, your active web hours, your interests, places you tend to visit and this enables them for giving you personalized ads.
Now with this +1 thing, we are almost feeding Google ;)
Having said that, I'm posting this from my Android and love their products!
I have got quite a few requests for invites. And I have send out to many of you guys. But no one is receiving the invite mails. I am not sure why. I am going to try again today.
Sorry for the issue guys but I spoke to other people who have send out invites and they too have the same issues the invite mails are not going through.
Apologies.
Well, if the intention was to create a buzz (not google waala Buzz) , they sure seem to have succeeded. Orkut began on similar lines I guess.
I dont think people are going to overnight migrate to G+, like they did in case of gmail.
Facebook though, can quickly incorporate the "nice" features from G+, just like Orkut attempted to do from FB.

This is a huge dilemma , people want something new because people are so bored of FB now . But the problem here is if you choose to move out to G+ you have to wait until all your friends move over to G+. At least that's what am seeing now . The interface is bland and it might take people, some time to understand the features .
The circles features is smart though I really don't know how many would be genuinely interested .
The truth is very soon there would be something that would replace G+ because in today s world we are being exposed to so many choices that our hunger for something new has grown to such heights that it has no limits . We want something new everyday , be it electronics or cars or friends maybe a new family too , no ? ha ha
I personally feel that the day is not far away when people would just get up from their couches and start meeting each other physically. I mean , I get sick of the fact that my friends don't call that often and my office mates prefer to communicate on the FB wall . Its ridiculous .
And the ever growing number of guys who think they are gods gift to women , the "WANNA BE FRANDZZZZ " types . At least with the privacy feature on FB I haven't seen many of these guys here . But that doesn't stop them , they keep sending friend requests to women . I don't know what they get outta doing all this .
I kind of remember that movie WALL - E where people on the spaceship finally realize what they have been missing and open the doors of their spaceship . If you haven't seen that movie , you must .
