Try JJ Mehta in Mumbai, they are a very reputed & good repair shop. You can email them & ask if they would take up your camera.

I will not risk parting with the camera and therefore looking for reputed shop in Pune, where i can wait till the activity is over.

Can take an prior appointment to have it worked out.

JJ Mehta is one of the oldest & most reputed shops in the country. Just google them up. Maybe you can make a day trip to Mumbai & see if they would do it in front of you, I doubt how they can manage.

There is always a risk in repairing or restoring any object. It is similar for cameras and automobiles from a laymans perspective.

JJ Mehta is among the more reputed places in India, and you should also consider that your issues may not be resolvable in a single visit. Consider that some parts may be needed to be ordered or fabricated, depending on situation. Sometimes, cleaning some parts may need them to be kept coated with a solution for some time, or kept under a UV light for several hours etc.

Since you are already apprehensive, why not drop them an email with pictures, and see the reply that comes from them? You may need to come to Mumbai twice - for drop and pickup. And if you can manage, join one of the mini-meets here as well.
