The ISP is Aksh broadband. I guess it is some Govt of AP initiative. Please visit www.aksh.in for more details.

Switched from Hathway (128 Kbps/ 100 MB) to MTNL Triband (256 Kbps/ 1 GB/ Night Unlimited) about six months back. Triband is blazing (230-240 Kbps true speeds), steady and trouble-free (much like my Baleno!)...

I got BSNL dialup. I consider myself very lucky if speeds hit "KBps". Usually I surf at 600-800 Bytes/sec :(. Costs 10ps/min. 40% of the time, the connection is established and then nothing happens..Cant even open a single site.

What do u mean by 512Kbps night? I have the same connection and it always connects at 576Kbps but the actual bandwidth never goes above 250 something. I have tried it on all times of the day!

Would Recommend Airtel or Sify.

My friend has same capacity sify and it is twice fatser than Hathway..

Hathway ....Tauba Tauba...

In our area this is the option so I am not leaving it( As I have paid installtion charges also..so cant move soon)..
Sorry to hear that !!

I get good speeds from my hathway cable. They go down once in a while but issues get rectified very fast. Their turnaround time is commendable.

I think what tsk means is that he has got a 256 kilobits/sec connection (theoretical), but he is not able to extract more than 220 kilobits/sec of data on that (actual) ..
I seem to have the same problem with mine - theoretically 256 kilobits should translate to around 32 kilobytes/sec - but what i get is around 28-29 kilobytes/sec max

And at night - it goes upto 50-51 kilobytes/sec.

All actual speeds measured during bit-torrent downloads.

@tsk - is that the same that you are able to get out of airtel's DSL - we have the same plan ..
