Novell ?
And which is ur client operating system ?

It won't depend on the operating system. Even I have GMail on Outlook and it works perfectly.
Try Windows Update and then add the GMail account from start. They have a few recent updates for MS Outlook. Might help.
Btw have you tried doing it in Outlook Express instead of MS Outlook?

OK - An update !

tinkering about a bit with the antivirus and proxy server , i have narrowed down tthe problem to the proxy. I was using Analog-x but changed it to winproxy.

Still Zilch - mail is sent thru outlook but receiving is ano-no. and this morning my computer has stopped accessing the net. Can anyone help me out with the proxy configuration ??
