Does this ROM show the occasional slowness issue that is reported in those official reviews of the factory Rom on ICS?

it doesn't really slow down but occasionally there is some lag found. only if u have heavy games etc.
I'm still on version 202, whereas now even 205 is released. that is supposed to be better.
i still have to update.

cheers.

So how is your phone performing after the root? Have you faced any problem? I was also planning to root my tipo but some comments on a xperia tipo's fb page mentioned that few users have faced problems after rooting their device. This has forced me to think again as I am a newbie in this sector and have no knowledge about custom ROM, RAM etc.

Not facing any problems. Initially even I was a bit scared because I thought I would brick the phone if I don't do it properly.
I followed all steps carefully and now I'm enjoying my phone.
I'm using FXP 207 Rom right now, which is a CM10 Jelly Bean 4.1.2 based Rom.
There are some minor bugs in the Rom but I think a stable version would be out soon.

Re: Review: Sony Xperia Tipo

Hi SW, (Parth in real, if am not wrong)

Nice review but just one question. Why not SONY XPERIA E, better processor, slightly bigger screen, Jellybean instead of ICS n IMHO more manly looks. And all this at not even fraction of a price.
It sells for 9990 on Flipkart n an offer of some headset too.

Raab rakha.

Yes the Xperia E is indeed a better option than tipo. But this product is yet to be launched AFAIK. Even flipkart says that it will be released soon (screenshot attached). But once it is released, the xperia E will surely bring large volumes to sony from the entry level smartphone market.

Can you please tell me the step by step procedure of what I need to do in order to root the tipo, unlock the bootloader and install CWM10 ROM.

I am a total newbie in this area and hence am a bit scared about rooting.

I am currently running the updated firmware 11.0.A.4.27

Hey sorry, don't know how I missed your post. The xperia E wasn't launched when I bought my phone.
I see it has better specs.

@dzired I'll post the complete procedure once I get access to my laptop. Using phone right now.
Till then you can get most of the info from two 2 threads on xda forums :
1) Sony xperia tipo roms, mods etc
2) fxp miro, tipo, J project.
These are not the exact names but a quick search will take you to the threads.

I think I have posted the link before in this thread.
Cheers.
