Bluetooth headphones and mic

One of my friends has a laptop with Bluetooth. He wants to know whether he can use a bluetooth headphone and mic with it? Any special sound card required to transfer the sound through Bluetooth?

Similar technology is available for mobile phones. So something must be available for laptops also.

Also what is the cost of Bluetooth headphone and mic? In India and also in US? Any specific brands?

you can use a bluetooth headset like jabra, which should cost you about 3500/- INR. but it will give you only mono effect and not stero effect. i use the same for my mobile as well as for my laptop.

Hi.I use Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset with my Nokia 6630 as well as my laptop(with built in bluetooth)..works fine with both products..
P.S. I used to have Jabra BT250V..even that worked well with laptop as well as Nokia cell phones.
So,you can go ahead with any bluetooth headset..it should work fine with laptops,as well as with cell phones.

Jabra BT620 (not sure)

Motorola HT820

if your friend has a notebooks with integrated bluetooth antenna then the sound drivers are atuomatically installed in xp with sp2. I have personally confirmed this in Dell and HP/Compaq.

Connecting devices over Bluetooth

Hey Guys,

Was wondering on couple of things.

1. How to connect a Bluetooth Hands-free to a PC and use it as a headset ? I know this can be done, just want to know how ?

2. Is it possible to connect a phone to PC via bluetooth and use phones Speaker and mic ?

Not sure if second can be done, but it does not seem improbable to me.

Regards
Shashank

Not sure about #2 but in order to do #1 you will need right bluetooth driver stack. For exmaple most of the samsung drivers come with audio heatset support.

Search the internet and find right driver for your bluetooth chipset.

Cheers

Was able to sort out number one. Works very well. Number 2 won't be required I guess.

Now, is it possible to attach and use 2 bluetooth devices to a PC ? Maybe with 2 dongles ?

To use with a PC/Laptop, it is always preferred to go for a BT stereo headset.
I use this Motorola S805 DJ headset with both Laptop and Phones. The sound quality is very good compared to other BT headsets. The battery back-up is amazing. This can also be used as a wired headphone.
