Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Using hathway (but in noida, not thane) the service is ok, with occasional downtime one every two or three months....that too is corrected automatically in 3-4 hours.
My plan: 2mbps till 19gb, then 600kbps.
Price: 900 per month.

Review: good for the price considering all things, and available alternatives. :-)

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I came across this advertisement of Tata Docomo. They are offering speeds up to 100Mbps. Considering our city infrastructure I doubt the claims. On top of that they are offering free tablet with one year subscription. Somehow looks very fishy and too good to be true. Has any one taken their services in their city? Need feedback

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I have lately been enjoying ACT Broadband in Bangalore - Near Hoodi Circle, Whitefield. Its a blessing.

My area was deprived of an ISP for years. The only options I had were - BSNL and Reliance CDMA dongle. Things have changed drastically in last 3-4 months. The ACT broadband has not disconnected once (touchwood) in 3 months and the price is just 999 + taxes a month for 15 mbps/40 GB Fair usage plan (no limit on uploads).

The speed is amazingly fast and clocks between 15-20 mbps on speedtest.net. Youtube works flawlessly without any buffering.

Yeah, thats the LANs Maximum Capacity around here

I use Airtel Broadband in Bangalore

Speed : 8Mb/S till 60GB and 512Kb/S after that.
Cost : 1300.

Tried rechecking with ACT Broadband at least 5 times, they don't have coverage in my area.

My uncle uses Hathway in Thane and he's fed up with the downtime, and lack of promised speed. Check if Five network covers your area. I use that in Dadar and wayy better than Hathway.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Same here, I tried getting ACT a few times and then gave up. And the funny thing is their head office is only a km or two from my place.

Using Airtel, similar plan as yours. The good thing about Airtel is that their service is very good and down time is few and far between.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Recently changed my ISP to Hathway. Now I get unlimited 1.5 mbps for 1010 bucks per month.
Earlier I was using BSNL's 512 mbps unlimited plan. I used to get first 6GB at 1mbps, and 512kbps after 6GB usage.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Hello Friends,

I have an old data card which can work with any GSM service provider. Sometime back, I heard about Reliance launching the 1GB 3G plan for Rs. 123/-, which is cheap and my data usage is not much; hence its suitable for me.
What I wanted to know that does this plan works on a 3G dongle/ USB data card to be used on laptops? According to the Reliance website, the plan is only for usage on handsets & not data cards. But a friend of mine says that he is using the same plan with a data card on his PC. I am confused getting the opinion of two.

Kindly share your insight.
Regards,
Saket

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

I use BSNL's broadband (Pune)
Promised speed: 4Mbps til 9GB and 512 Kbps unlimited
Actual speed: ~ 3.5 Mbps
Monthly rental: Rs. 900 But, I made a discounted one-time annual payment of Rs 9000. That comes to Rs 750 per month, a steal IMO

We have a BSNL franchisee in our society so it becomes extremely hassel-free experience so far.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Hard to believe this thread started with us talking of 50 - 100 kbps speeds! How things have changed...

Hathway's new 50 mbps plans from Colaba to Mahim. Took 70 GB download for 2,448 / month (including taxes).
