Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

So, I was running the Airtel 1999 plan wherein I get 16 Mbps speed for 130 GB (FUP) + 40 GB (Broadband Surprise) + 5 GB (Bundling with postpaid) = 175 GB.

However, over the past 3 days I was getting terrible speeds (3-4 Mbps)and hence, I complained. They promptly sent a technician over and after all checks, it was concluded that the router needs replacement. Understandable, since it was in the twilight of it's life. Since the router I was using was out of warranty, I had to pay for a new one.

However, there was a Plan B. The Airtel executive told me that my area is now covered under fibernet and hence, if I wish, I can upgrade. The new router will cost me 1000/- and I can pay for that via an installment of 200/- over the next 5 months. Immediately applied for upgrade.

My new plan now is of Rs. 1799 for 40 Mbps and 220 GB FUP. Way cheaper than what I was paying earlier. Not to forget, the broadband surprises and bundling is yet to be added to this.

All hail Jio.

My house in South Kolkata runs on Alliance Broadband. Promised speeds. Economical plans. Very good customer support. I rate them highly.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Anyone around CV Raman Nagar/Bagmane Tech Park area having access to ACT broadband?

I have been trying to get away from lousy BSNL broadband but ACT seems to be non-existent. My only other option is Airtel.

Been a loyal BSNL customer for more than 10+ years now but its time to move to newer tech and better speeds.

I am interested in their 40 Mbps 50 GB plan for Rs 999.

Any feedback on Excitel from NCR or Hyderabad customers? How is the service? How is the customer service?

No, but they have started a pilot project in a few parts of Hyderabad. They laid the underground cables all over the city a couple of months ago. In addition, they laid pipes with optical cables in a few buildings in some parts of Hyderabad, after taking permission from the concerned flat owners' association. My apartment complex was luckily in that list.

They distributed a pamphlet last week stating that they will give 100 mbps speeds for 3 months free of cost, and then announce the commercials later. They needed a refundable deposit of Rs 4500 for a new connection.

As my ACT yearly subscription is due next week, I thought of giving this a shot. I'll see how it goes for a few months and then decide whether to retain Jio or ask for a refund. Till then, I'll downgrade to a monthly plan on ACT.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Recently our Excitel plan got auto upgraded to 100 Mbps from 50 Mbps.

Need to change the cable from the current 2 wires to 4 wires for extracting the maximum bandwidth.

Nonetheless getting following speeds

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Asianet here in Kerala has started 200mbps 200gb for 999.

Yummy little plan but only in Kozhikode for now :(

Their site is yet to reflect this but saw a few hoardings in Kozhikode with this plan.

Re: How Fast Is Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection?

Hi, I have opted for ACT as the service is pretty good in the neighbourhood.
Have paid up for 6 months and am getting the Netgear router. Hows this router?

I'm asking as there is a chance I could get Dlink one with three antennae if I insist. Dont recall the model numbers, sorry. Quick response is appreciated as the installation is today.

This is a direct line plugged to my PC from WiFi router. Otherwise WiFi had maxed out at 50 Mbps Download/Upload. Need to work with WiFi router (300N) to unlock the remaining bandwidth.

Cheers!

Just tell them that you want to buy the router yourself, then ask them to configure it.
If already paid for, then ask them for a refund on the router cost.

This is a good plan. I am on Airtel, Bangalore, getting 25 mbps (Vfiber) for 999 per month. FUP is 85 GB pm. All calls free.
