Can someone in Bangalore let know how much the cost would be to install Tata Sky HD?

Thanks in advance,

Re: Direct-To-Home television in India. Update DTH HD announced

Why just HD go for HD+ costs 3999 compared to HD's 2599, i got installed last week now replacing the Tata SD DTM as well to HD in my bed room.
Worth and HD can show you the real potential of your HD or full HD tv.
Now apart from PS3, Xtreamer media player and upscaling dvd player my DTH is also HD .

Re: Direct-To-Home television in India. Update DTH HD announced

Just installed one last week,

I called up & ordered one online through the IVR giving my credit card details (with the one time authorisation code)

Was delivered & installed the very next day ! Total was 2,599 with 100 rs chai - paani tip to the guys who came to install it.

Very nice person on the line who helped me order it & professional guys who came & installed it.

The old box i have retained in case the other one in my bedroom conks anytime.

Amazing clarity on the HD channels, best part is no ads on the sports channel

Seriously?? 3999 for HD+ and 2599 for HD? Could you let me know the dealer please?

What would you say is the major difference between HD and HD+?
Did you get channels for free for certain duration? (Seeing lots of ads these days)

Hi Nirmal,
Long long time after the projector light setup How are you doing friend?
Confused now between HD+ and HD.
How much would monthly damages be if I go for HD+ and HD? Is it completely dependent on the package one choose?

@bkb - HD+ is a DVR ,the option for channels is the same. So it would be better to go for the HD+. Unfortunately i picked up a HD box last Nov when the HD+ was not available :(

Re: Direct-To-Home television in India. Update DTH HD announced

Call up the Tata sky toll free number and place your order there only through IVR, keep your credit cards OTP ready with you, HD+ is with recorder inbuilt 500 GB hdd for over 600 hrs of HD recording and HD is just DTH no recording.
I have opted for yearly package at 6K per year along with 150Rs per month for my 2nd connection, with this package i'll be getting all the channels along with HD and new launches.

@Ajay - can the recorded content be copied out of the STB and watched elsewhere. This was not possible on TataSky+ , wanted to know if they have added this feature to HD+

Done with TATA SKY HD installation.
I opt for HD Gold pack. Excellent picture quality for HD channels.

I also observed that this HD set top box is better then old one. The picture quality for non-HD channels also improved.

This may be a perception, but i feel this.

Which HD connection to buy.

Airtel, BIGTV, TATSKY , DISH TV ?

Airtel : - 3100 with 3 months subscription
BigTV :- 3100 with 4 months subscription

BigTV has 9 HD channel it seems.

Check out Dish TV HD. Heard they have more than 30+ HD channels.

Re: Direct-To-Home television in India. Update DTH HD announced

Good info JMaruru. I may have to dump TataSky and move privided Dish HD is available in Kanpur.

Tata are only interested in the Metros, so after being with them from the time they started in Kanpur I may have to switch.

Ya recently they have added many HD channels. Though i have not counted its definitely more than 20 nos. Movies now, Nat geo, Discovery, Star cricket are coming in actual HIGH DEFINITION. others are mostly upscaled. Some of these upscaled channels are HBO, WB, DD HD, MTV, Colors, Z Cinema, Zee TV, AXN, ESPN HD, Sony, TLC, Zee Studio, Zee cafe, Cartoon network etc.

Also, picture quality in these movies channels are varying and depends on whether it is a recent one or an old movie.

Can you please let me know is there a marked difference between tatasky+ and tatasky HD+ in terms of the reception quality for non HD channels?
