mobik looks like you've hit the jackpot

a simple search on google on "PS3 game region" shows multiple hits on sites indicating it is region free. The reason they say is blu-ray discs have so much capacity that localized discs are not needed, each BD game disc will carry all localizations necessary to play on any regions PS3

A little research and we can be sure about this - make sure you confirm though before you buy US PS3

Cheers,
j

ok i searched a lot on the net for some recent news stating ps3 is region free - however all the news about ps3 being region free is march 2006

The most reliable I think would be cnet Sony games region-free at last | Tech news blog - CNET News.com

Can anyone confirm with a link or a later review of ps3 stating its region free or from personal experience
I think I am gonna get a PS3 when I goto US in august

Hey

Im selling my xbox 360 in Mumbai

Its the official PAL version and is just 3 months old which means I still have 9 months of warranty left.

Its the core version though and comes with the tv connectors, the controller, the power adaptor and the console itself. Iv hardly used it and it still looks brand new. Its been lying in my cupboard for the past month as Im in University right now.

Cheers

I've been playing Motor Storm on my PS3 for a while now. The graphics are really impressive but the biggest surprise is the way the console has been designed. The PS2 looks and feels so outdated compared to the PS3.

GT5 is due for release in 2008. This game is gonna do what GT4 did to the PS2....set new standards. And this time, they've got Ferraris as well.

The only prob i face is when i switch from HDTV to SDTV. The PS3 needs to be reset from 1080 to 480. That can be a lil irritating. What cable are you using? HDMI, Component or the regular composite? I'm on HDMI.

Ps 3

Personally speaking, PS3 wins hands down on Xbox 360. Have played Motorstorm, COD3, Virtua Fighter5 , NFS Carbon, Splinter Cellouble Agent, FEAR.

The graphics are amazing and performance is good.

Planning to buy warhawk. Some of the promising upcoming games are:

Stranglehold
Army of Two

PS3 rules - i dumped my xbox360 and got a PS3 1 month back and haven't regretted!! PS3 is an upgrade over xbox360 and technology wise xbox360 sits somewhere in between ps2 and ps3. Given the new games coming in things look good. I cant wait to play resistance fall of man, getting it next weekend

Hehe, the PS3 feels 10 generations ahead of the PS2. Looks more spacestation than playstation. LOL

No, Motor Storm is the only PS3 game i've got, was offered the latest version of NFS but din't wanna take it since i'd never play it anyway.

GT4 was the reason i got a PS2 and once again, GT5 forced me to go in for a PS3.

I dunno how many GT4 sessions i've had with some of the bhpians on this forum. Some of them lasting the whole night. I feel it's high time we organised a "Team-Bhp Playstation" meet. What say??

^^ we could also play online on either PSN or Live.

Log onto gamingindians. com

they have quite a few members playing against each other.

btw for all those planning on buying a ps3, wait for some time. theres a $400 40gb system coming out soon.

Maybe, but there must be some catch to it. They wont give you all the features that the 60GB version has, since it'l eat into the high end version's sales.
