lol.....whatever man.... I refuse to argue now as I dont have facts and figures at my fingertips.....

Let me consolidate my arguments

And gaming is not only abt graphics..... however good looking a game is, it has to have good gameplay to appeal to people...

Maybe it was the game I played (golf), but I did'nt see what the hype was all about.
I got to see (not play) a lot more games on the PS3 at other stores but it was nothing spectacular if you discount the fact that the screen was a Sony Bravia. It was good no doubt but not saliva-dripping, eye-glazing, mind-searching-for-which-FD-to-break kind of good.

On a related note, I played a lot on the XBox360 consoles at these stores and ended up buying one because the price was right.
Xezas - The reason why you couldn't see the improvement is because in all probability the games you played was designed for the PS2 & was being played on PS3 which in turn does not allow the game to fully exploit the console's full capabilities due to its dated design.

Right now due to the PS3 just being launched there are very few games which have been developed specifically for the console & hence you might find it hard to spot the difference. But once the dedicated games hit the market, then it can display its full potential. As for the 360 well since it's been around for a while it has dedicated games developed for it & so they exploit the console's abilities to the full & hence the better performance.

Or maybe the PS3 is not as good enough, I think time will tell on this one.

As for me it's going to be the PS3 for a simple reason : Gran Turismo 4 & Gran Turismo HD & Gran Turismo 5

PS3 for me..anyday,anytime..
For the Xbox/PS2 time, the XBox really is better..but this time for the Xbox 360/PS3 era..Sony have developed one mean machine with the Blue Ray drive..

Strictly PC!! Unless ofcourse, it's in the car. (It's easier to put in a console into a car than a PC).

PC is my gaming forte. I ain't no expert in it though.
The best part of a PC is you can check Team-BHP and still drive a Porsche thru Palmont City!!!

Now please dont turn this into a PC bashing thread due to my worthless words above

the bluray disc player is a big plus cos with the ps3 u get a bluray disc player for half the amount that a dedicated bluray disc player is going to cost. while i agree that it will take some time before blu ray discs become common you have to admit its a ncie thing to have

you can get HD DVD on a 360 but you have to buy a sepearte unit for that

btw do you get pirated xbox360 games as yet

PS3 too expensive and limited stocks

xbox 360 expensive in India and limited games

PS2 much cheaper with lots of third party / easily available games.

Guess which one I picked up last week?

Cheers,
Spyder

P.S: For those still guessing..i picked up the PS2 slim and it rocks :-)

I would pick the xbox 360 for the time being.

I own the premium version and it offers more value over the ps3.

My friend just bought a PS3 (20gb version). Other than the blue ray support, and built in WIFI there is not too much difference between the systems. Maybe about a max of 10% (in favour of the PS3).

Games are frightfully expensive (70$), they take too long to load, plus the feedback from the sixaxis controller is not as good as the 360.
First and third person shooter games are way maore comfortable with the 360 controller due to the layout of the buttons.

Speaking about GT4/5 on the PS3, wait till forza 2 is launched on the 360!!!!

maybe then the petrolheads will have a change of heart!!

I made the same mistake as you when I bought my PS when PS2 launched. Soon you will no longer get newer games for it and will have to upgrade to a ps3 incase you want to play newer games. However on the other hand if you are not a hardcore gamer I guess a ps2 will do the job
