Did you check out the new gaming arena 'blur' in sathyam cinemas? They sell PS3 and also have a demo of the same.

The 160GB model is now selling for similar prices as the 80GB in the UK. Might be worth waiting for these to hit Indian shores if you fancy an extra 80GB.

Hey guys!

So, I have finally taken the plunge into the console world! After a lot of research and thinking, oh lots, I finally decided to go in for the Xbox 360! A quick look into the thought and decision process:

Wii - Was definitely considered and was close to buying it when I realized it's going to be more fun when you are with friends/family! I am not really sure how much fun playing bowling alone could be! Not for very long, I am sure! Also, Wii didn't have the games I wanted to play. I am a sucker for FPS and Racing games, so Wii was out of the competition.

PS3 vs Xbox - The eternal fight, eh? I would have definitely gone for the PS3, if I had a HDTV and a home theater, or was planning to get one! IMHO The PS3 is better value, if you are looking at buying an entertainment package, not a gaming console. (Don't kill me PS3 fanboys!) The Xbox definitely has a better online gaming experience, albeit paid, and a better choice of games. That, and the Xbox available here in UK at almost half the price, it really was a no-brainer.

But then, when I started researching Xboxes, and came across the reliability issues. Some people quoted a failure rate as high as 33%! I didn't want to end up with a dead console in India. That was until I read about Jasper! Finding a Jasper Xbox wasn't easy but Google's your best friend and it lead me here: Xbox 360 DVD Drive Database

Called up a couple of Blockbuster stores in my area, and found one in Headingley, took a bus and got the console + NFS Undercover (I know it's pathetic!) for GBP 139.99!

Here are some pics:

Yeah, I know it's an Arcade, but it's a Jasper Arcade! The 60 gb Live Starter Pack is coming soon!

Amazing controller - just love it!

The 12.1 A current rating says it all - Jasper!

A big thanks to Blockbuster, Headingley (Leeds) for the cooperation!

you can read the review here

IGN: Need for Speed Undercover
The game is no better on the PS3. Frame rate errors galore which really spoil the game for me. I have Xbox 1 games which are more enjoyable because they do not have such errors. One minute the visuals look superb and then the frame rate drops and the cars look as you are playing a game on a megadrive.

Until EA sort out their PS3 games development and coding I am not buying another EA PS3 game. Everyone I have bought has been poor with frame rate problems galore. EA need a good

'Blur' is niceee

I would advise against the arcade machines though - most of them are quite old, & actually appear to be survivors from the gaming plazas set up by Mahindra almost a decade ago. Also, each game costs Rs.30 & unless you're familiar with a game - you'll quickly end up losing a lot of money as most games have very short timeouts ! The Wii, 360s, & PS3s are a safer bet, I think an hour is Rs.60. The experience is also better with those lovely Panasonic wide-screen displays & speakers in the head-rests...
