Yup, as far as I know Sony india doesn't repair PS3 but replaces them. Even for PS3's out of warranty they replaces them albeit with an added cost. But even them it's quite reasonable from what I've heard(50% of new PS3 cost).

Guys, how long is Sony's warranty on a new Ps3? After buying my new led tv, my next step was buying a gaming console & was leaning towards a Ps3.

1 year.
God knows what will happen if it stops working after one year as mine stopped working after one day!!as its in warranty will get a replacement but the wait is killing me.
Bought xbox 360 250GB an Kinect for my kid (n for myself too) :). Plays awesome, me n my kid are fighting with each other to play. Along with the console got the following games:
NFS: The Run
Call of Duty
Kinectimals.
Price: 31000 /- + 2 Games free
Planning to get myself a PS3 (slight confusion between the PS & Xbox still), wanted to know the best place to get myself one in Mumbai or online? & whether anyone knows if there any offers available like free games cause when i checked out the game shop at r city mall he had the 160Gb at 20k with only one demo move game with it. After spending that much i intend to get at least one great game free like a modern combat or resistance.
please: advise.
Why is there a considerable price difference between similarly specced Xbox 360 and PS3?
Just got a PS3 320gb from amazon for $240. Usually it is $300. Pretty happy with it. Awesome graphics, great sound, good games. The games are priced a little higher than xbox360 but that is a non-issue for me.
Currently playing GT5, GTAIV, COD4-MW. Its fun and very addictive. Will soon get Move.
Having owned PS3 and spent hours playing xbox at friend's home, i would any day get PS3 over XBOX. The reasons are everywhere online but biggest for me was how the games and menu look, feel and act not to mention the Blu-Ray and wi-fi, 7.1 support.

Cannot agree more with you. Apart from what you've mentioned, I've found youtube videos much better to watch via PS3 on the TV, compared to the laptop. I think PS3 upscales the pictures, and the look is certainly better.
I am re-living my childhood watching top of the pops of the 60s and 70s via the PS3. Those days I'd heard those songs only on radio, as there was no TV where I lived. It is really thriling to see the guys who sang the songs on TV and listen to great, scintillating music.
Of course, my 15 MBps Beam cable connection and Home Theater system augment the feel-good factor immensely.

Not to forget the rechargeable controllers. Its a small thing, but its a lot more convenient than going for replaceable batteries controllers like the ones in XBOX and Wii.
And Uncharted series ;) :D
^^AFAIK Xbox controllers are rechargeable too!
I have been using a Playstation 3 from last 3+ years. It was bought from USA and now from last few months it does not play ( I mean when switched on the power source does not come up)
It seems you need to haul it to a Sony A.S.S and its not guaranteed they will service or rectify the problem
However, I came to know they exchange existing PS3 for a new one at a heavily discounted price.
Is this true?
I need to buy a PS3 to keep my nieces occupied who will be visiting me from US in next couple of weeks.

dont want to start on a big comparision here but those features are there with Xbox 360 as well.
With the new console, it has got 802.11n wifi inbuilt. The audio channels you are talking about is the capabilities by the games and game developers and your HT system, I guess the console is compatible and should be able to provide that kind of support. The graphics are again something that game developers can make or break. However, I have been playing xbox for sometime and found it to be great. With the new apps coming up on xbox 360, I guess it would get better as it move.
Not much experience with PS3, but I have heard that some of the games are well developed/designed for the console and it really plays better on PS3 compared to Xbox 360. Again, both looks to be good/capable consoles to me.
I have a ntsc xbox360+kinect which I got from US. Can anyone tell me where can I buy NTSC Kinect games in bangalore. I am looking for dance central 2. Or if PAL version DC2 bought from flipkart would work on my ntsc console?
