Hi Guys,

Anyone got a spare Mi 4i invite? My friend's looking to buy one and the sale starts @2PM today..

Thanks in advance :-)

Cheers!
Lokesh

Your friend missed out on two free-sale days just a week or two ago. Just log in and buy. That's how I got mine :)

Yeah, He did since he dint have an invite

Any idea how this works? Like when do registration open and are they going to open it up for all again?

Cheers!

Nope. You just have to watch the sites such as Flipkart. It is a silly marketing game that I don't want to play --- I just made the decision to buy the available offer one hour before it closed.

But... I don't think that Flipkart have exclusive dealership any longer. I went to the Airtel showroom the other day to get my APN settings sorted out, and the guy took another Xiomi from the display to copy from. Maybe you can see/buy there even.

By the way, the Airtel 4G is excellent!

It's not like the invite system of the oneplus one. You have to register with your Flipkart account couple of days before the sale, so bhpians cannot help you in that process.
The Registrations might be open right now, so anyone can register and then they have to buy it on the time and date of the sale.
It's a pretty hassling experience and there's no guarantee you'd be able to get your hands on one.

Yes it is. Registration up to June 10th for sale on June 11th.

I thought it might be buyable from Airtel, but the airtel handset link just goes to Flipkart, and the same old registration lark. Xiaomi's own site also says to buy from Flipkart. Looks like they do still have the exclusive dealership.

OnePlus Two is getting launched today. If someone secures an OnePlus Two invite and do not wish to use, please let me know.

The launch is tomorrow early morning at 7:30, isn't it?
If I get one, I'll give it to you for sure.

My colleague has a Cardboard. I'm waiting to see a product keynote in VR (for the first time ever as they say)

Am waiting for the VR keynote too. Should be pretty amazing. But, if the phone looks anything close to what the leaked images suggested. This will be the 2016 flagshipkiller - KILLED !

By the way, if anyone secures an invite, please share some love here too. I might want to pickk up a one plus two.

Its incredible how Oneplus has exploited the invite system to generate hype and manage production constraints, margins etc. They have been able to generate an aspiration value which much larger smartphone companies with far deeper pockets have struggled with. Remember this is an overcrowded world of Android smartphones. Kudos to Oneplus for acing companies like HTC, Sony, Motorola etc. Wondering is automobile manufacturers can also take a similar approach - by the way i am refering to their mass market cars and not the hyper lux ones.

PS: PM in case you want to get in the invite list

You can do all that but you need to have a competent offering to compete as well. And this is where actually OnePlus aced their competitors. The invite system got them all the initial attention that they could have asked for. However, beyond that they would have paled into insignificance after a few months had the product been not what it was. OnePlus One provided the very latest in technology that most flagships also struggled to put together in one single piece of hardware and yet price it so low that people initially suspected a scam.

So yes, they initially benefited from the system of invites but beyond that they had a superior value proposition that carried them through.

wow, the OP2 is dual sim with 4gb RAM.

if anyone got invites, i am in the queue :)

Here's where everyone can register for an invite for the OnePlus 2 and help me out in the process. :)

I would advise against buying the Oneplus 2.

It has a Snapgragon 810 which has got known overheating issues. Google it for more details.

Every phone that has got the 810 is suffering from overheating. The recently launched Xperia Z3 plus is an example.
