Could this be a bug?

That's just Google's sense of humour!

Good news is that as of today, Chrome for android now also syncs passwords with Chrome for desktop.

Re: Internet Browsers

Latest development version of Chrome for Windows has built-in 'Chromium App Launcher', start menu kind of button, which pins to the taskbar & provide one-click access to Chrome apps. Probably will make it to main release shortly. Google is trying to fill the start menu void in Windows 8

Google Chrome Goof up

Google is trying to fool with their Chrome browser. In the latest Chrome update, new tab or a blank tab means Google homepage

Chrome is already a memory hog. If Google doesn't fix their browser or don't stop these cheap tricks, then goodbye Chrome.

I mostly use FF for most of my day-to-day work (not office related). However when accessing secure (banking) sites and any company internal sites, I use IE. With IE 10 & 11, it feels much faster and reliable.

Heard lots of about Chrome and its fast response. But somehow I don't really like it.

I have uninstalled all google products on my desktop (gtalk, chrome etc) couple of years. All of them install a Windows Update service which runs all the time. I even manually deleted the service but it magically reappeared soon. I don't see why I have to have a google process running all the time even when I am not using the browser or gtalk. I replaced Gtalk with Pidgin and I use Firefox/IE/Opera as my browser.

A way to fix this - How to bring back Chrome's old New Tab page
Quote:
1. Type or copy and paste chrome://flags into Chrome's omnibox
2. Search for "Enable Instant Extended API"
3. Change its setting from Default or Enabled to Disabled
4. Restart Chrome

If you have a lot of tabs open with Flash objects within them, that could take up quite a bit of memory. You can disable Flash, to get around it. Sometimes, Javascript can cause hangs, if it isn't well-written.

I have an old Core Duo with 3GB RAM on Windows 8 (and previously with Windows XP) and there have been no problems when using Firefox, Chrome, or Opera. You can use Ad Blocker plugins if you want to disable only unwanted Flash objects.

Re: Internet Browsers

Guys, need help with IE

I need to delete one specific site from my browser history. How do find where the data is stored ?

it is not listed in browser history
It was not private browsing
The site (just FB) shows up on an utility that is used to find all browsing history
the FB page accessed today morning.

though the link leads to a pic of a bus on FB's KSRTC / BMTC page, I need to get it out asap. Pls don't ask why

Re: Internet Browsers

Add:
I had opened the page in Firefox, and then accidentally switched rendering engine to IE, using the right-click button
