Has anyone used the new IE (7???) yet? I had to use it yesterday after my Flying Blue site refused to work on Firefox (damn! why is everyone MS compliant?) and it looks and feels very different from the old IE.

Still slower than Firefox, though

I'm using IE 7. I think it came bundled with Office 2007. All text appears in 'Calibri' font, rather than Arial. Dont know any other specific changes.

Add to that, version 2 is a HUGE memory hog! Even IE 7 doesnt take up so much memory. Plus it crashes as soon as you have 7-8 tabs open...

IE7 doesnt have the same problems..except for maybe each tab takes toooo long to open up, but once it is open, they are fine. But it also crashes occasionally...but then that is to be expected.

Bottom line is, firefox2 is not much better that IE7, and definitely is worse than the previous 1.5 version

It is still running on windows right. firefox2 on linux does not cause similar problems, no crashes seen even with derivatives of mozilla (like galeon , etc..). I'd trust firefox (or mozilla) derivatives than IE any day.

I have been using Firefox 2.0.0.1 and it never hang up on me. (No, not even with multiple tabs).

Good thing about it is that, even if it does at some time, it can always restore the session back exactly the way it was before crashing (tabs, pages, including text typed in text boxes), which is really cool.

Been using IE7 since a few months. And Mozilla 1.7. And Opera 7.52 (I reluctantly upgraded from 6.0 a few years ago :P ). IE7 declares "welcome to tabbed browsing" like it was some earth shattering innovation.
