UltraPortable

Check out the Toshiba R100 or R200. Its a Sub 1kg Laptop with Good Features and a Extended Battery Pack included. This should give you close to 5 Hours of Backup. I think now it retails @ a Lac n 20 Something. But the downside is its a Single Spindle laptop (No Optical Drive).

I was using a R100 in my earlier Company, Since Changing Jobs I use a Dell 610 (Centrino 1.8 / 1 GB Ram / 60 GB Hard Drive / 15" TFT) Weighing close to 2 Kg's +. Beleive me after using a Toshiba R100 the Dell his Damn Heavy rather any other laptop would feel heavy.

Yes, but 754 is cheaper and with chipset support being extended by nVidia/VIA it will stay on longer as well.

Is this the Toshiba thats sold under the "Liberetto" brand? Thats a sub-1 kg laptop without an optical drive, though it comes with a docking station that includes a DVD r/w drive and weights about 1.6 kg WITH the docking station...however the screen's too small. The Sony T series and Fujitsu P have bigger screens...but one cant have it all because:

1. The Sony's keyboard is a bit small while the Fujitsu's keyboard is almost full-size.

2. However, the Sony has 1GB of Ram while the Fujitsu comes with only 512 mb.

3. Fujitsu feels more solid and better built than the Sony.

4. The Sony however has an incredible 8-hour battery life while the Fujitsu only comes with a 5 hrs rating.

5. Again the Fujitsu comes with a built-in media card reader which will accept everything from CF to RS-MMC cards and everything in between, while the Sony only accepts Memory Stick Duo or something like that.

I wish I could combine the two and come with with one that has the Fujitsu's keyboard, build and flexibility, but with the Sony's RAM and Battery life.

I have a Gateway M305 laptop: Intel mobile Celeron 2.4 GHz, 256 KB Cache, 400 MHz FSB, 512 MB RAM, 64 MB Intel Integrated Graphics.
I basically use it for music, internet and gaming(I know it sounds like a joke). And I have also installed Linux on my laptop. So I have a dual boot with XP and SUSE Linux.
