Aadix, remember, the celeron doesnt have cache mem while the Pentium does.

Also a 2.2 AMD wud give a 2.6 Pentium a hard time. But AMDs heat faster therefore need bigger and even more cooling fans.

I have Oct 2004 edition iBook. Specs: 12", 1.2 Ghz, 512MB, 30 GB, Built in Airport Extreme. Got it for $850 + $40 for extra RAM.
I use Contour Design's MiniPro Travel Mouse(one of best Mouse I ever used in last 15 years of computing)$22.

While at home , I connect my old 15" monitor and also use Apple Pro USB keyboard ($49) with macmice 2 botton scroll wheel USB mouse( gr8 Apple design made even better. Looks, feels and works exactly the same as Apple one button USB Mouse) $40.

I use Tucano (Itali) Second Skin Sleeve($21) to store my iBook.

Just last week I added Airport Express wireless base station (with Airtunes)for $129 (Fantastic!).

And of course almost addicted to iPod (mini) $249

Next additions would be:

1> D Link Bt120 Blue Tooth Dongle ($40)
2> 2.5" External Firewire/USB2.0 Hard disk ($75)
4> iMic ($35)

(I have re-posted here based on suggestion received from 'Rehaan' )

My config is in my signature, so each and every post of mine has it. The reason its there is because I frequent tech forums a lot and the siggie was originally created for that. However it has always had car pics as a background so I figured its relevant here.

Anyway, on with my config:

PC1 the main steed:
Intel Pentium IV 2.66 GHz
Asus P4S533-MX (SIS 651) mobo
1GB PC2100 DDR266 RAM
Samsung Samtron 75E 17" Monitor
Samsung SP0802N 80GB 7200 RPM HDD
Pioneer DVR-107D DVD+/-RW
Lite-On (JLMS) XJ-HD165H DVD-ROM
Creative SoundBlaster Live! Value
Artis 4.1 Speakers
ExtendSys ESI-9680 IrDA Adapter
CSR Bluetooth Adapter USB
Canon S200SPx USB Printer
Microsoft Windows XP Pro SP2
ATi Radeon 8500 - Now kaput

PC2 - the test bed:
Intel Pentium III 550 Mhz
Procomp i810 mobo
192 mb ram
Seagate 10gb hdd
Onboard video / sound
Samtron 40bn 14" monitor
Regular keyboard
Microsoft mouse

Both are usually connected with a Bluetooth Personal Network, unless the test OS is non-Windows, in which case I have to stick to regular wired LAN.

This test pc gets formatted almost every few weeks with a new OS just for experimenting. The last OS i put on it was FreeBSD but I never even booted into it. Yawn.

I am completely put off with PC gaming owing mainly to the fact that you need to upgrade all your PC components every six to ten months if you want to play the latest game on your machine. In the money spent on ONE such upgrade, I figured it was better to get a PlayStation 2 and so I did. From now on, no more money shall be spent on any putrid graphics card that will disintegrate in ten months.

PS2:
Satin Silver SCPH-50004 v9/v10
8mb Mem Card
Silver controller x 1
Black controller x 1
Network Adapter
10gb hard disk drive (from PC2 - i keep interchanging)

Fun!

Only problem I used to face earlier on the Mac was gaming but figured out a solution that all the games are already available on PS2, XBox. The older games not released on consoles can generally be run on my VirtualPC
