The 1st time I did it, it was smooth and was done in less than a minute. I had to reset both recently and have been unable to set up ever since. What am I doing wrong ?
After I press "Setup Mobile Service" it takes me to the login page and then to the web version of the AirTel app when I click "Not able to login". I remember it to be seamless the 1st time I did. |
Solution - Call AirTel and have them de pair the watch and repair thereafter. It'll work.

1) Battery continues to be my main grouse.
2) I would love to have a few metrics to watch out for. Steps, distance, heartrate, spo2, hrv, vo2 max and sleep time. Even if there is an error of +/1 5% to 10% i am fine.
3) I started looking at Hybrid watches and not many come as stylish as the regular watches.
4) $250 range it would be great. Please let me know |
Hi
Try the Huawei GT 3 pro titanium and beyond series, especially the ones with metal finish. I have posted a link of the same previously. It meets all your above requirements. I have been using the GT 3 Pro for over a year now

Please let me know if I can be of further help
Thanks

I did check it out. What I am looking for is a regular type watch but with certain smartwatch/health features. I miss the regular dial, the ability to not charge every few days

Are you not interested in going back to Garmin? If you don't need GPS in-built on the watch, then the Vivomove Sport seems to match all of your criteria. The only con is that black is the only sane colour option that men can wear (IMO). |
I prefer the old style watch
Question - should I just pick up a ring then. Does it work like the regular health monitoring watch ? Oura seems to be behind the fence of a subscription model. Is there anything else which is available if good hybrid watches are not available

Hi
In your research, did you notice Huawei has over 100 dial display options, including the old style dials. Thus one can give the watch a contemporary and/or classic look. One may even style her/his own dial display, if they so wish

My experience with rings: they are not as accurate as the pulse read smart watches, and are further away from chest strap based reading. Thus if you are not so particular about the health/fitness readings (~10-15% variations), then it could be an option.
Thanks
Reposting now in the right group as I asked this on the analog group
Does anyone here own and have experience/feedback on Casio Rangeman GPR h1000?
The amount of tech on this amazes me and its a wish to own a proper/Genuine Casio.
While its retailing for 60K in India, its selling for 40K in Malaysia and I can pick this up in my next travel there.
So, please suggest if anyone here has any feedback or insights?
Just for reference - I moved from traditional to smart watches few years ago and will stay with Smart watch for next few years atleast. I am on Apple Watch 7 now and was also considering OP2 as I moved out from Apple ecosystem - currently using Android.

I do not know much about rings but if you want somewhat reliable interpretation of heart rate and other data derived from it, it is better to go with a device maker that has incorporated Firstbeat Analytics' algorithms into their device and companion app/website. Most reputed wearable device makers have partnered with that company.
Edit: It looks like Garmin acquired them sometime back. Not sure if that has changed anything w.r.t other device makers using their technology.
I have an eSIM capable Pixel watch 2 but this feature is not supported in India. I tried
this method to overcome this limitation and succeeded partially but failed mostly. Operators in India only support Apple & Samsung watches. I requested Vodafone for a QR code and tried downloading the eSIM onto the watch, it worked, but because Vodafone(all operators) does not support eSIM on Pixel watches in India, connectivity is absent despite the eSIM being in it and to make things worse the physical SIM on the phone also disabled lol: Good POC overall. Patient dead operation successful.
Were any of you folks able to get an eSIM working on a Pixel Watch in India ?
I am looking for a health band/ smart watch for my wife. Her requirement was a very basic one to track steps and anything extra to be a bonus.
But I would like to know if there are any reasonably good ones that can monitor blood pressure?
I can assume that there may be challenges to do it accurately. Still, if reasonably accurate, would be a good thing to track. Max budget is 5k.

You will find getting a smartwatch with BP monitoring with a 5K budget difficult. Even if you get it, it will be a gimmick.
Only a few options like the Samsung Galaxy Watch have reliable sensors to measure Blood Pressure. And they need to be calibrated with a physical BP machine every four weeks which shows the complexity of measuring blood pressure from your wrist.
Buying a smartwatch is a good health investment. I strongly suggest buying a good smartwatch with accurate sensors to monitor your health.
Listing below some options for you
Samsung galaxy watch (Active watch 2 and above)
Timex fit 2.0
GOQII smart vital
CrossBeat Ace
Fire Bolt 360 pro
Boat watch storm
Fire Bolt Supreme
Let us know your final purchase.
All the best.
I am looking to purchase my first smartwatch. Although I am a fan of traditional chronographs, I need a smartwatch to track activities. I play a fair amount of sports (Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis, Cricket etc) hence not only do I need accurate activity tracking but also want a watch which has Google Maps support. Worst case scenario, the watch should have turn by turn navigation. The watch needs to be compatible with both iOS and Android.
Ideally want to limit spending to something around the cost of an Apple Watch SE towards the higher end of the spectrum.
Any suggestions from the experts here?
Appreciate all the help!!
Hi, just wanted to check if anyone is using Ultrahuman Ring AIR? If so, what's the feedback? Confusion is between Apple Watch and Ring AIR. Thanks.

Picked up the venu sq2 non music edition. Very nice toy, it is.
Spo2 and heartrate are spot on, battery life is brilliant.
Am giving time to the body battery function to align. |
While the Garmin is still going strong, it really did not function well for the office, and with shirt cuffs. So I had taken to being watchless for office.
Then this Pebble watch popped up in my ads.
Its slimmer than most analog watches, and offers all needed connectivity. Have ordered an assortment of leather straps in, and its become a good daily driver.
Bought my first Smartwatch in the "Amazon Great Indian Sale" few days back.
My need was simple:
- Watch should have Sedentary monitor option
- Steps counter
- Sleep tracking
- Must be under 10k
Samsung Watch 4 and Classic Watch 4 LTE version ticked all the boxes. Amazfit had some excellent offers, but I did not like the designs.
Prior to the sale the price for Watch 4 40mm model was around 7,500/-, during the sale it came down to 7,000/- plus 5% cash back on ICICI Bank CC. Dropped the classic LTE version as it was 46mm and my wrist is small for it.

Ordered on 25th September at 12:30 midnight and it got delivered on same day at 07:30 PM. It came with 0% charge and was a 2023 manufactured unit, the MRP was some 26,500/-.
Below are my initial impressions
The Good:
- Has ton of features, you name it, it has it
- Great value for money at just 7k
- Latest Wear OS 7 and One UI 5
- 16GB internal storage
- Excellent touch response
- Intuitive UI
- Very light weight
- Will get one more wear OS update
- Sedentary monitor
The Bad:
- 2 years old model
- Takes 2 hours to get fully charged
- No type C charging cable (comes with Type A)
- Steps counter is not accurate, it counts steps even when I am driving
- Calls over bluetooth are average
- Strap quality is average
- Heats up a little bit during charging
- Need to download 2 separate apps, one for watch faces etc and one for health tracking?
The Ugly:
- Worst battery life, you can hardly get 1 day battery life even after turning off most of the features
It is a good watch, gets the work done. Sedentary monitor option is good, reminds me to take a walk while working continuously on my laptop for more than 50 minutes. However, sedentary monitoring is not fully customisable, I can select timeframe like remind me only during 9:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, but cannot update the 50 minutes reminder cycle, I want to update it to 30 minutes, but no such option available which is a bummer.
Verdict: The market is flooded with cheap smartwatch starting from as low as 500 bucks, but again spending 25k or 40k makes zero sense to me. 85k for Apple ultra watch :Shockked:. Apple needs to chill out. Go for this watch if you want a decent and simple smart watch, avoid it if you want good battery life.

Huwawei band 8, nothing else comes close in that budget, available in Flipkart at 3.5k. No blood pressure monitoring but their sensors are best among fitness band.I came to this conclusion after going through several fitness bands and watches.
Got myself the Huawei Watch GT4 46mm (14 Days Battery Life, TruSeen Tech for 24/7 Health Monitoring Smartwatch)
Wanted a smart watch to track:
Steps
Exercise routine
Heart Rate
Sleep tracking
Stress Tracking (in IT industry so wanted to have something to track stress)
SPO2
Body Temp.
Overall satisfied with the performance of the watch and the features that it has and it really looks good on my wrist. It is among the best smartwatches for heart rate tracking as per The Qualified Scientist Review.

The retail price of the watch is around 20K but got it at 13K after applying all the discounts from Flipkart. Overall really liking the smartwatch. The battery life with all the sensors on 24/7 is approx. 10 days.
