Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

I have Avast, Flipkart, Snapdeal, iReff, Mobikwik, Ola, FB, Pizza Hut, Unit Converter, MX Player, Hill Climb Racing, Easynote, Blendoku, Whatsapp, Wordweb, Swiftkey (Trial), Zomato.

The Ola app always asks for the GPS to be turned on before it opens which is annoying. I have to open it only if I want to book a cab. I have uninstalled many apps which I found no use like Truecaller which is a gimmick, It doesn't recognize the name of the unknown caller. Some apps like Flashlight appear good for a few days then you get bored.

It's better to keep only those apps that you truly need & make your phone like a Sukhoi jet than keep a hundred apps & make your phone a hot-air balloon.

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Although I do use quite a few apps, I always make sure they are good quality, well designed, genuine and ad free apps. I NEVER have ad filled crap filled inside my phone or tablet to lock my apps, clean RAM, or stream songs or for such basic functionality. In fact, I like to use the stock functionality any day over using third party apps for the same. I also make sure all my apps are up to date, and have material design on them. In fact, Team BHP is the only non-material-design app I've got. And I have cribbed about a material design update to our app a couple of times, only to no response (GTO please take note ). Also, the only app with a few non-intrusive ads I've got is the ESPNCricinfo app. But it is really well designed, and the sheer quality of all sorts of content on Cricinfo is too good. So I've kept it. Apart from that it is very clean.
My app drawer contains some of the very best apps out on Google play, which not everyone may use, like-
Play newsstand, flipboard, Google keep, root explorer pro, snapseed, ADM pro, evernote, mp3dit pro, etc. Apart from that, there are some excellent apps like Cricinfo andTripAdvisor too.
As I said earlier, I prefer stock functionality built into the OS over using third party apps, but I do use the Google now launcher for it's reliability, design and Google now integration.

Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Apart from the run-of-the-mill apps that nearly everyone will have on their phones, these are the apps I found most useful on my 5S and Note 2.

iPhone
Fitbit (just for step recording)
IF (part of IFTTT, If this then that; I use it for weather notifications every morning, or stuff related to facebook and twitter)
Fuel Monitor - One of the ugliest apps I've used on iOS, but I use it for recording fuel expenses, repairs, and what not for my motorcycle. Automatic FE calculation, cuz I like keeping track.
Scanbot - made my life a lot easier when scanning documents.
Camera+, Aviary, Skitch - Great camera/photo apps; Aviary can be used to create memes as well.
Swype - Been using the keyboard for five years or so.

Also, a tiny thing to mention - I normally maintain my iTunes account as a US account, which gives me access to iTunes Radio, and great app deals as and when they show up on iPhonehacks.com. That's how I got my paid apps (minus Swype).

If we look at jailbreak tweaks, Activator, CCControls, Jellylock Unified, f.lux, NoSlowAnimations, VirtualHome, and Zeppelin are what I have installed.

Android

Other than the regular stuff that people have already posted here, like Greenify and what not, by far the most useful app for me on Android was the Llama location profiler. I had it learn the locations I was at, and would have it setup my phone automatically whenever I entered those locations. The best part is that it didn't require GPS/Network location specifically to be on, but it did use cell tower locations, which didn't take up any battery. I would have it configured to turn on wifi and turn off data when I get home, change the ringtone/notification volumes, depending on the time of day and such. Brilliant little app.

For both phones, however, I try using the stock apps as much as possible since they're the most optimized.

Hey, I too love that game! I am on Master level atm, and progressing slowly. It's quite addictive, and you feel like playing it right away when your car's finished servicing. Anyhow, I don't know anyone else who plays that game, how do I add you? Do you have a race team?
