Re: What Apps are installed on your smartphone?

Maybe I'm the only one here, but I seldom use Team-BHP app. It's mostly through desktop browser in office

Interesting list by most, nothing to add really. One honorable mention though is the
Flipboard on my S5. It gives some interesting news from various publication every day and has quickly become a must go through app in the morning. The content is suitably localized as well having India specific news and opinions.

Would be great to know if other similar apps are there.

Hi,

Thanks a lot! This is just what the doc ordered. Consumes battery a lot less than all the previous email apps I have used till date. The interface is extremely smooth and beautiful to look at! Thanks again!

OT: Rooted my phone and installed CyanogenMod 12.1!

Cheers,
Neel

That's interesting.

I have been trying to root my Note 2 but was not sure of the most authentic DIY video (there are tons of them). Which one did you follow ?

-Go to xda-developers
-Then to "Note 2" forums there. You will get DIY for Rooting. The steps have been described elaborately.

I am looking for an andriod app which will maintain a Fuel log. I came across FillUp and Fuelio. Any suggestions or feedback regarding the same?

I am using Fuelio and found it 'easy to use' with simplistic UI.

Search for CF-Auto-Root and you will find instructions easily. Rooting Note 2 is pretty easy.

SuperBeam - Blazing fast transfer speeds

SuperBeam

There is a PC version too! Can transfer data fast!! 30 Mbps (real world) good enough for you? This was from laptop to phone with hotspot set up on the laptop.
Uses WiFi Direct if available, normal WiFi otherwise.

P.S. Haven't figured out how to set up WiFi Direct on my laptop yet, can some guru enlighten me?

The other app I find very useful is MyBackup (Root) to freeze apps I don't use actively (Greenify is good too).

GravityScreen seems problematic after a while - may be something to do with the hardware (Nexus 4). None of the auto on/off seem to work well for me.

In all, seems pretty neat, considering the standards of custom ROMs for the not-very-popular devices. Shouldn't cause any major hiccups, I would think.

And the best part, you'd become free to tell all your non-geeky friends that you just bought yourself a Xiaomi Nexus!!
I had CM 12.1 on my Note 2 for almost 10 days. Intermittent restarts are common. And boot time is much more than most custom ROMs/Stock ROM.

I would recommend Inbox by Google over Cloudmagic. I don't think you can manage rules in Cloudmagic either.
