Google Home vs Amazon Echo
(
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/gadgets-computers-software/181476-google-home-vs-amazon-echo-8.html)
Hi, Will an Alexa Echo device (3rd generation) bought in the UK work in India? The price difference is almost 50% right now compared to India.
Yes it should. The only thing to note is the UK vs EU/India type wall charging plug. You'll need a converter/adapter.
I am glad I found this thread. I have a google home and I have it configured for my google account, my home wifi and it even recognises my voice. I use it to play music from Wynk app. It used to work perfectly fine. Of late there is a strange problem, when I say "ok google, play <music>" google home responds by saying "ok, playing <music> from wynk app. After a few seconds, google home throws an error saying "sorry something went wrong, when you are ready give it another try"
has anyone faced this problem ? Any fix for this ? I tried to factory reset the device, but nothing worked.

I assume your Wynk subscription is active and working? I had the same issue with my Home Mini with Google Play Music as I did not have a monthly subscription with the latter.

I had same problem. Just unlink the wynk from Google home app and re link it. That was the solution. However now I am not a Airtel subscriber and don't use wynk anymore.
Could you please suggest how i can play a song on Google Nest Mini directly through the Gaana app/Youtube (i mean no by voice command but by casting through my phone to the device ) ?

Do you mean Google Nest Hub? you can link the preferred app using the Google Home app on iOS/Android when connected to same network. For youtube, you can directly ask google Nest Hub to play song on Youtube. Hope this helps :)

No i meant Google Nest Mini (2nd generation).
I have linked Gaana app to the device, but the only way i can play a song is by instructing the device "Ok google, play xxx song".
What i want is that i control what song is played on the device through the Android Gaana app itself. So that i have more flexibility and control. (Just the way we do normally with a bluetooth speaker for example).

Does Gaana app have cast option? You could select that and choose the Google nest mini if the phone and speaker are on same wifi. I do that from my phone using Prime music.

I got the solution. There is an option in Google Home app to select the device (Google nest mini in this case) and select the option to cast audio from mobile to the device. Works like a charm.
I wanted to know about the Google Nest Hub, has anyone bought one (sorry, haven’t been thru all the pages).
Pros, Cons, usability and anything else you might want to add. Please also list out if any alternative should be considered. Would like one with a screen though. Anything at par in the Apple ecosystem?
Reliance Digital has one in chalk colour for 8999 rupees but the manufacturing date is July 2019. Is it ok to buy one that old?
Any help/pointers would be most appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
Cheers
Was gifted an echo3 from office.
Loving it. Connected it to Spotify, Gaana, and Amazon music. Also it can control two Firesticks I have (though tried on one). It can even power up the connected TV. Tells Amazon delivery status, news, and setting reminders is great.
It is a glorified music box. Say it — hear it. Yet to try Halonix smart bulbs.
Alexa, play Sultan’s of Swing...

I have Halonix smart bulb installed in the bathroom :uncontrol while the sound quality is average and I don't have high expectations but the only gripe is whenever you turn on the bulb, it says "Your Halonix speaker bulb is connected and is ready for use" every damn time. Imagine someone turning on the bulb in the middle of the night lol:
Does anybody know how to play to the amazon echo dot from Amazon Music app? The echo dot is setup fine and can see it from the alexa app. Am even able to play to the dot from the Spotify app. But when I try from the Amazon Music app (click on the cast icon - the rectangle), it says "Sorry, we cannot find any devices".
I know I can play by shouting at the echo device, but it does not recognize almost anything I shout at it. Also am not a fan of talking to machines, so that's not the preferred option.
