You haven't provided some key factors such as viewing distance, ambient lighting, and commonly watched source (cable, satellite dish, DVD). Even so, with a max budget of a lakh you have some very good choices -- just read earlier posts in this thread and you'll get a good idea.

Guys, I have the 42" LG Jazz Theatre. Is it true that while accessing the USB stick, one cannot change the picture and sound settings?

Whenever i press MENU on the remote, it goes back to TV mode! So if in the middle of a movie i wanna change the sound/picture settings, I'll have to exit USB mode and then do it. That's weird!

Is it some kinda problem or is it same with all LG TVs that have USB 2.0?

Hey, anyone of you are playing Video games (say PS3 or Xbox) on your Plasma TV's? I'm thinking about getting a gaming console but little worried about the fact that there may be burn in after gaming hours. Anyone have any experience of gaming on Plasma(to be precise, on Panny PV80D)??

Anurag, can you PM me or reply a brief review of your LGPQ70 plasma? I am yet to decide on 42LGPQ60/70 or Panasonic C10. I am going to buy the panel by early next month.

Searched most of the shops in Bangalore and mostly they dont deal in Philips or dosent offers good discount got quote of 34990 from Modern World, 37990 from Chroma which was shock for me and 33000 from Unilet after lot's of bargain, so picking up from Unilet, anyone knows the service code for this model?Just to check the number of hours run etc.Got the code for my Penny PV-8 and it came out to be new when it was purchesed.

drchernish i have done a good amount of research in 32" LCD panels, close your eyes and buy Philips, if you dont believe visit any showroom who keeps Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Philips (LG i dont consider as competitor to any of these brands, no offence to LG owners) and see the difference yourself.

@neoonwheels, check out pages 184-187 in this thread. Another member VSG12777 has already covered most things in details for the PQ60. I have also pitched in with a few observations from my side. I will be glad to answer any specific questions you might have, of course. Happy buying...

I've played with multiple gaming consoles on my Panasonic Plasma. Burn in is not an issue. You will have some temporary image retention which will disappear. You will only be able to make it out if you switch of the TV and go and stand close to it or at an angle and only if you are looking for it. But it doesn't stay long. We've played sometimes for 8 hrs at a stretch and there has been no problems.

Also most of the gaming consoles come with a standby feature which activates if you have paused the game for more than 30-60 minutes. I think this is configurable in the PS3 and Wii.

Hey Anurag and VSG12777, thanks a lot guys. Now the next task is to go and see these models (LG and Panny) in person to gauge the performance.

+1 to that. Same observation with PS3 + PV8.

@kaushik
In fact you'd have a bit of image retention even with widescreen movies. Play a movie for 2-3 hrs. When you switch off, there would be horizontal bars of a different shade of black on the top and bottom of the screen. And then it goes away after a while.

Temporary image retention is normal. This is not burn-in. Nothing to be worried about.
