re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

We want to buy 47 inch TV.
I have following doubts--
1) What is difference between Plasma and LED TV? Which one to go for?
2) Is LG Brand unreliable if we want to go with one?
3) Our budget is 80K. Could anyone suggest the Models (out of which we should opt for with the reason for choosing that model?
4) The dimensions of TV should be-- Length- <47" Height- 25-27". The dimensions mentioned are including TV Frame.

Please reply soon.
Thanks in advance.

Samsung is offering free wifi dongle and web cam on 40ES5600 model.

I really liked the thin panel and smart features. Best price i see is 60k on infibeam.com

Is it worth it?

I really wish i had some connection in Thailand as i hear same model sells for 35k there

What is the verdict on Samsung eh5000 full hd led tv? I am looking for a 40" tv. 3d or smart features is not a requirement. USB support, hdmi inputs is all I require. Pls suggest any other models. Cost would be the prime consideration.

1. Read back a few pages, say last 10 or so. Faster still just Google plasma vs led.
3. Instead of asking others to choose for you, you should decide what you need and what you want. Picture quality / features / connectivity / energy efficient / smart / 3d / etc / etc? People can then suggest models.
4. On a wall mount this space may fit a 50 inch. Check out exact dimensions from company websites.

re: The TV Thread - LCD, Plasma, LED etc.

I checked with a friend and the information I got was Samsung LED 50'' or so was 42500 rupees. Its a fantastic deal.

However Please let me know if you buy 1 and for how much because I am within 2 weeks of having my room ready and need to pick anything for around 50k - LED grey Market or Plasma 50''.

Styler, please keep us posted.
thanks friends for the above info. I followed the same process and within two days got an email with extended warranty PDF.

fyi, during my purchase in Sept'12, the Pana printer offer was going on (but pay extra 2K); but I finally didnt buy this offer, as the cost of replacing cartridge will be very high. Just a thought now, in a way I bit regret the 1 month delay in purchase, as I missed the Free HT offer floated for Aug'12.

thanks diyguy. is that a watt-meter?
OT -but what do you use it for

Ok, friends, I finalized the 50XT50D.
(its rated peak power consumption is 265W, so normal should be within my backup of 250W)

price is 64K with 2 active 3D glasses and some 3-in-1 printer on payment of further 2K.
exchange value of my existing 29" crt is 2.5 k.

Does the above offer sound good? Or should I wait for Diwali offers?

Thanks
lazy.

Yep it shows me power consumption over a period of time in Kwh, voltage, current etc

I would check the grey market, I've bought 5 LCDs and no issues. My older Sony crts were from there too and still going strong 20 years later.
