My office bought a 55" UHD (I think) from VU around 6 months back. It runs 24x7(well almost). No issues so far. Installation took a few days more than what we would have liked. But nothing to complain as yet about this experience

Now I am confused. So basically VU ain't bad as an option but what I personally feel is that if things go wrong then it can be a pain from a service angle. Same seems to be the case with Panasonic. They make great TVs but poor service quality in India. Checked out a few TVs yesterday. Shortlisted the following: Both non-smart TVs LG 49LF5530 @ 61k from Vijay Sales Samsung 48J5100 @64k from Vijay Sales Smart TV Samsung 48J5300@68.5k from Reliance/Croma. Reliance guy said that he can reduce the price further once I finalise. Compared to these, VU 50 for approx 33k (TEMPTING!) What to do, what to do?

| ![]() I can give you the number of VU ' s regional sales manager. 1) their setup is in okhla, 2) more flexible than sony/samsung, 3) but one should hope that the tv keeps on as service in Indian scenario can be a hit or a miss.... |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() My 37" LED Lg went dark yesterday while watching a movie. The model is 37LV3730 and it almost 5 years old. Has anyone got a TV fixed by Lg customer care when not in warranty? This was an import from Malaysia. It was receiving power from an APC voltage regulator and Belkin and Huntkey spike busters in series. Didn't notice any voltage issues at the time it went dark. On googling I see many issues with Lg Tvs on no picture or sound but the standby power indicator glows red. |

| ![]() Those looking for new TV should check the 2016 range of Panasonic ds630d series (Shinobi Pro). They look extremely value for money. 100Hz refresh rate. I was looking for a 50" tv for long time and was thinking of going to LG LF6300 or Sony W800D. However, Sony having VA panel was not being suitable for my viewing setup (TV screen to be viewed from sides as well). LG has only 60Hz panel refresh rate and display quality was just meh. But when these new Panasonic tv were launched exclusively on Flipkart, I got on the first week of the launch for 10% discount on card. It came in the price range of LG lf6300. Great display quality, wide viewing angles and 100Hz panel refresh rate. Writing this review after one and half month of usage. I am happy with the tv. Only downside, I have seen is that there is no native plex app for the tv. The contents of plex media server can be accessed through their app "Media Server". This is the TV I had bought. http://www.flipkart.com/panasonic-12...meg8gw4ezcr9ar It's currently out of stock. There is a slightly lower variant ds450d as well. BHPian ![]() | ![]() Update on my Lg tv situation. The service technician came and swiftly opened up the back cover. Removed the power adapter from the main board and shorted the pins to show that power was reaching the panel. This apparently indicated that the main board is an issue and needs to be replaced. Cost is approx 7035rs and includes service cost. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Is there a possibility of the Hdmi input from an AVR causing some problem with the main board? Is there some sort of protection one can put in there if this could be the possible reason for the main board getting spoilt? Maybe we should rotate the Hdmi port rather than it being on only one port for years together? |

| ![]() So there is a vertical line, sometime there are two of them, appearing on my Videocon LED tv. I called up the service centre and straight away they told me it's a panel problem and the cost of panel would be around 16K. That's the 70% value of what I paid for the TV. Anyone else who faced this issue with their TV? Last edited by creative420 : 7th July 2016 at 12:43. |
