I am also looking for 50-55" 4k TV with HDR around 70-80k budget. I have Amazone Fire Stick. All good TVs have some smart features. Was looking for Sony but all models below 9 series and below 55" do not have VA panels.
So alternatingly looking for Samsung through friend. 55" 74xx has smart universal remote and built in set top box(may or may not use it). Same was quoted 78k but still bargaining.
It appears to be similar to 7100 model except smart remote and STB which may be even cheaper. Their 8 series 55" has 120 hz refresh rate but appears not interested or may be discontinued to push Q6 series.
Am also considering Sony 9 series from Dubai. Does anyone know what is price currently there?
Else Samsung 74xx shall be finalised.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Does Amazon Fire Stick remote work fine with MI 4X Pro or MI 4 Pro TVs?

Any first-hand feedback would be really helpful.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Am a sucker for deals and has often fallen for many, even on things that were really not needed.

I had been using a 2010 bought LG 42 inch LCD which has been going strong after 9 years. Although I like to have a bigger one (55, 65), there is nothing much to find fault with the LG. Last time I tried buying one was when MI TV was launched. I tried a number of times but each time the flash sales failed me. And then came out the not so impressive reviews and I stopped trying.

Now I came across a magnificent deal for an iFFALCON 55K2A on Flipkart. Selling price was 34K with an additional 6K on exchange and an additional 4K using a credit card. And my LG got a exchange price of 4K making the total exchange price 10K. And then a EMI discount of 1250, the price I paid was Rs 18750.

Now, ain't that a steal! A few months ago I had bought a basic Samsung 32 inch LED for Rs 16500 for my CCTV setup. Compared to that 18750 for a 55inch Android Smart TV feels like peanuts.

I don't know how good this TV is, nor whether I will hold onto this TV for a long time, nor am I sure whether it will last for more than a couple of years. But I hope it will fill in for the time I save up for an OLED TV.

Any iFFALCON users here?

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

I am buying Flipkart's MarQ 24inch FHD plus 3 year warranty for an extra 500. Did anyone buy this? The reviews in their site is all top, but not much known, especially on warranty and service. This is to be used as a 2nd TV.

The TV has arrived and it looks and feels good. Picture quality is better than my old 9 year old LG, but not by a huge margin.

Am new to Android TVs so am a bit miffed by the amount of time it takes to boot up. It takes about 45 seconds which feels like forever compared to traditional TVs. Is there a mode in Android TVs where you can put it in some sleep mode and only shut down the OS at the end of the day? Or a simple screen off would have done the trick.

I think this is problem with all smart TVs. I have a LG 32 inch dumb TV while parents have smart version of the same. Boot time and user interface is painfully slow in smart TV. Luckily there is a screen off option which can be accessed quickly. Just for that painful UI, I am happy with my dumb TV which responds to commands much better.

Hey not at all, we have this 49UH60 for two years and have just boxed it making way for a Sony. The UI was fast and just too good. Never felt any lag, seriously.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Anyone using VU Tv's here? I am looking at the Pixelight 4K 55" @ Rs 51,000/- or Ultrasmart 49" @ Rs 39,000/-. Want to avoid Samsung's and Sony's this time, though they have been great for 4-6 years.
Just need HDMI ports and not interested in inbuilt smart TV options. Never used them on the current 43 inch Samsung LED, which gave up recently.

I am using their 75" since last 2 years and is completely satisfied with the picture quality and the built. Yes you are right for smart TV you can always buy Chromecast or Firestick, it works out much cheaper than buying Samsung or Sony smart TV.

I bought the VU Premium Android 55" @ approx 42k last month. Pretty good picture quality and satisfied with the overall package.

PS: Even though an Android the boot up time is not a worry except when it is completely shut off from the mains. If switched off from the remote, it's just goes to sleep mode and starts the from the same app/video.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Thank you amit_i & bhargavd. I am going ahead with the 55" Pixelight. Flipkart has it for 37,000/- with some buy back reduction for my dead Samsung.

I have the VU TV original android version for the past 8 months. No complaints. Number of supported apps is low. and Netflix doesn't work. Prime can be side loaded in.

Unfortunately the iFFALCON does not seem to have a screen off option. The manual talks about a standby mode which is nothing but Android shutdown. Switch off mode is the power switch. Anyway it is only a minor irritant.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

I am US. Planning to buy a 55" OLED TV to carry to India. The usual prices for 55" OLED TVs in US are about $2000-$2200 (INR 1, 50,000). Should I get one from here? There will be additional costs of getting it to India, like airline charges, customs, 220 - 120 converter which will add up to another INR 30,000 or so. What are the ongoing prices for 55" OLED tv prices in India? Company websites show maximum retail price, so can't go by them.

I checked Amazon, and I found a 2018 model for INR 1, 45,000. https://www.amazon.in/LG-inches-Ultr...HKG9R3TJ7BXDBZ
