Which is the recommended one? Is it Belkin?

Belkin is good but may not be available everywhere. I found it on Amazon that too after couple of months. It must be above 400 Joules as someone pointed. Has to check. Earlier I had 4 socket one. Now using having 8 sockets and it is double in Joules rating also, I suppose.

Will a small ups (600 VA) do a better job than using a stabiliser or a surge protector?

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Placed an order for the Mi TV 4x 43 inch TV on their website. Delivery expected tomorrow. Cost for the TV, extended warranty, some cable for the set top box (can't recollect the exact name) and wall mount came up to 26446 bucks. Not bad considering it comes with a 4K display.

Usage of this TV will be less, so not too concerned about the other specifications.

I have a Honeywell 4 plug surge protector with 525 joules. It's available in Amazon. I bought it for ₹885 but it's retailing now for ₹999

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Guys, there is a lightning deal today on Amazon for Mi TV 4K 55inches. It's 35k today and if I use my ICICI card, there is an additional 1.5k off. So it comes to 33,500. Shall I go ahead? Not too many draw backs on Mi TV?

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Went ahead and bought Mi TV 4K 55 inches TV. Was installed today. 4K content seems good. The TV comes with Netflix and Prime. Looks like money well spent. Now i need to add a sound bar. Any suggestions?

Bose Solo5 is quite good. I'm using on the smaller TV (for 2 years now). Yamaha soundbars are good as well.

Is a stabilizer essential for the TV? I am not using one currently. However, all my previous LED/LCD TVs had a stabilizer. Should i just get one for peace of mind or does the Mi TV come with one?

Yes please do, if you have bought one for all your other devices means you have an issue with electricity fluctuations. Look for the one which can handle your TV size, Setup Box or any other addons which are going to be used along with your TV.

Modern TV's can handle a wide voltage range as most are built to work both on 110V and 240V. What electronics cannot handle is voltage surges and that is what kill the appliance.

So instead of a stabilizer, invest in a fast and reliable surge protector.

Re: The TV Thread - LCD, LED etc.

Purchased a LG 55" UHD TV from Reliance Digital, with a bundled JBL soundbar at effective price of Rs 53k (after card cashbacks) with fair bit of haggling. Picture quality seems decent for 4K content, and magic remote is a big plus.

Was pleasantly surprised to find physical store price better than online price.

Soundbar :

Don't be surprised because that's often the case. There is a place called DEVI in Jayanagar 1st Block and God knows how, but he is always cheaper than even Reliance Digital (forget online).

This has been true for appliances & electronics for a long time now. I always buy these from a physical store. Phones may be the only thing which are occasionally cheaper online & even that if you search around you find the same price in B&Ms.

Devi International.
The owner-promoter will be around walking like other salesmen and if you can identify and speak to him, on the spot, he provides you great discounts and deals. I have purchased most of my home appliances and TVs from him for the past 2 decades and I can vouch, he provides the best deal, south of vindhyas!
