Thanks for the suggestions. One noob query. Will this TV still need a firestick to access the OTT apps? Or the TV's come with built in access to home wifi?

Recently spent 5.5k to repair my 8yr old Onida 43 inch LCD/LED tv. The motherboard went kaput. I feared for the worst & started researching for 55 inch TVs but I guess that will have to wait now for some time.

Almost all TVs these days don't require a Firestick. They mostly have popular OTT apps pre-installed, which you can access through your home Wifi. However, if you are looking for a specific app, just visit a store near you and check if it is included as part of the pre-installed apps. If it isn't, check if the TV allows you to install additional apps.

Best wishes!

This TV is based on the latest WebOS from LG and is Guaranteed updates for 5 years with every new WebOS version till then. Even after that app updates should be available on the apps available on the WebOS store.

These are the preferred content partners as of now:

If you are looking for any other app besides these, kindly check if they are available on the WebOS store here

How has your experience with Tizen OS been ? Did you miss Google TV ?

Share the link to the T&C of the warranty with chatgpt(or your preferred GenAI tool) and chat with it. It'll tell you all you want.

Tizen is sluggish even on the supposedly premium TV. Curiously once we are past the OS (ie after an app is opened) it is fine. I like the less cluttered intervace of Tizen better than Google TV (I have a TCL with google TV as well). Even the Google TV on TCL is not very smooth to operate but in it's defence, it is a budget TV.
