If you want stronger, Rubbing alcohol is great on glass. Suggest you look it up. And use a good/fresh MF cloth

Looks like alcohols are a big no-no according to this article on a LG wesbite-

Caution: Chemicals such as alcohol, thinners, or benzene should be strictly avoided, as they may damage the protective film covering the panel.

Using the isopropanol solution was maybe a bad idea?

Well that screen is smudged badly. What other choice do you have?

Took the plunge yesterday evening. Total damage was 125k.

Do I need to buy a voltage stabilizer or would simply connecting the television to the ups would suffice?

What I heard from an experienced electrician is UPS alone is sufficient. Please post your impressions after few days of usage

I have connected TV to UPS, it is working seamlessly and handling frequent power cuts in Bangalore well. Please look for UPS model which can suit your TV wattage.

Thanks a ton!

I am a complete noob at this. Can you possibly enlighten how to check the TV wattage?

It should be mentioned on the box/ behind the TV or in the product booklet.

The TV arrived just now. On the box it says 220V - 240V, while in my UPS the input and output is marked as 230V.

I hope that's fine.

You would have to look at the power rating of both TV and UPS. It is in VA or Watts.

Usually TVs are around 100W and UPS could be 1KVA [up to 1000 W]. Make sure your total load all equipment connected to UPS are well below UPS rated VA rating.

Check for power (watt or VA) of your TV. It can range from 100 to 300 W depending on your TV. If it is 100-125 W then UPS of 600VA will work. For higher wattage like 200-300 W, look for UPS which is 900 or 1100VA.

For reference, for my Samsung 50" QLED (225W), I am using 900VA capacity UPS. For Samsung 43"LED TV (125W) I used 600VA UPS.

Thanks a ton for this.

All the box mentions is 220V - 240V. So I called up Sony customer care, even they don't have this figure in Watts.

I asked them what capacity UPS or stabilizer I need for this model, to which they say I don't need any as the TV is designed to withstand voltage fluctuations. Any damage resulting due to that is covered under warranty.

My existing UPS is 600VA. I think I will just connect the TV to it.
