you sure the site is pioneer.co.in? I get a different website, its a hyderbad based ISP !!

Check the above quoted site by car-crazy1400 for the Pioneer site. Their service centre (hopefully also for sales since I bought it from a service centre in NOIDA) is:
PRO-AV
No. 242, K.Kamaraj Road,
Bangalore - 560042
Tel: 0091-80-25560450
Mob: 0091-94480-40500
Email: satish@pro-av.co.in

Check the prices there. In case they are higher than Delhi prices (1.08 incl. VAT) you can get it transported from Pioneer in NOIDA. They told me shipment to Bangalore/Chennai is Rs. 3K (INCL. insurance).

PV80 was packed when I went there. It could have been opened for me, but I did not bother to ask. It was indicated that PV80 is a lot better than PV70 (last series). You can perhaps take a look and compare it. I was happy with Pioneer 428.

ok, I found some comparison between Pio and Pana displays over AVForum

Looks like Pio 8th Gen still leads ahead of Pana 11th Gen
Kudos to Kuro, But Pana pics look fishy with the flash or something on upper left corner

just saw the panasonic 42Pv8, looked good when compared to a pv7,

guys was wondering if i could use the pv8 panel as a computer screen also, apart from regular viewing?

considering this to be a new gen panel, wouldnt the burn-in and image retention issues be far lesser?

any idea how is the panasonic lcd tv: 37lx80? for both regular usage and as well as a computer screen.

any suggestions for the price range between 50 to 60k?

Guys,

I have got the VGA cable to connect my notebook to the Sony RPTV I have, it has got a seperate PC socket, where I can use VGA + sound.
I've tried a coulple of cables available in market for sound output, did not help.

Can anyone point me to a cable that I can use to output my notebook sound to the TV? I'm not going to use SVideo as I'm using VGA for better resolution. and want to get stereo output from the notebook to the TV.
Please let me know which specific cable can be used and it would be great if you can tell me where in Bangalore I can get it..
THanks..

I 'am also on the look out for lcd / plasma in panasonic. I want to have a look at 42PV80 and also the 37LX80 or if possible 32LX800. BTW, where did you see the PV80..?

You need to get a Stereo to RCA cable, Something like this
http://www.cablesnmor.com/ProductImages/w16201.jpg

If you are from South Bangalore you can try Ezon/Chroma/Spar Hypermart.

Otherwise you will get it in the following Electronic shops
Jayanagar 4th Block Opp Sony World
Jayanagar 4th Block Opp Book paradise (The lane where NIIT and the computer spare parts shops are located)

Thanks for the update aadix. I will try to check the new range from the Panasonic showrooms. BTW, have you decided any model or yet in the search? Any comments on the Panasonic Plasma VS Panasonic LCD?

i have a colleague interested in the sony 40" full hd lcd panel S Series - KLV-40S400A - the price listed on the sony india site ( KLV-40S400A : S Series : BRAVIA™ LCD TV : Sony India ) is 82.9k but he is getting it for 78k. Any inputs on the sony S series LCD and how it compares to plasmas in same price range.
I have suggested him to get the panny 42" plasma instead. What would be a good panny plasma in that price range which can blow the low end sony S series. PV70, py700, pv8, pv80 ?? Any inputs would be nice

Jassi, you probably need to read up the last 10-15 pages on this thread for a comprehensive answer. The whole LCD vs Plasma and how good the Panasonic 42" is has been discussed. General conclusion is that the Panasonic 42" is too good and better suited for watching normal tv/cable/dish than LCD's.

You are right. For regular viewing Pana Plasma will be better for him rather than Sony LCD, unless he has heavy PC usage planned.

Any idea when is Pioneer 9th Generation launching in India...???
