Go here - https://www.spotify.com/in/premium/?...ut=false#PLANS

On the right side, select 1 year and you would see it.

Not sure. I am an ex-Spotify user. Do you see this on the site? Maybe you would need to logout first and then access the link:

You'll need to cancel your monthly subscription, wait to be switched back to the free option, then sign on to the annual option.

Damn, too late. I have taken the special without cancelling the existing subscription.

Thanks for the info. Though.

Talk to customer care. They may be able to help if you made changes recently.

Just signed up for a new Spotify ID a few days back to create a family account that offers 3 months free for all members. It brings Spotify at par with Google's Youtube Family Premium that goes for 189/month. But Google offers premium video content and has a full catalog of tracks unlike Spotify India which still has not resolved the licensing issue with Warner Bros.

My old Spotify prepaid account will expire in March but the Rs 699 annual plan is very tempting. This is really inexpensive compared to what I pay for Tidal and Qobuz. lol:

Cheers. Spoke with customer care. The old subscription will get cancelled at month-end and the new 699 one will get activated.

Can I know the customer care number to contact Spotify? My payment of Rs 699 is not reflecting in my account.

I had chat thru. Their website and they confirmed. Also checked the website. In my case the 699 plan is activated and the erstwhile 119 plan is now due after 1 year. That is November 2020.

Hope this helps.

For the folks using Spotify Premium, how would you compare the audio quality compared to other streaming services?

I am finally thinking of taking the plunge with a subscription service but Audio quality is of utmost importance before plonking in money.

I need to pick one. Can't manage too many subscriptions. Which one would you recommend?

YouTube Premium or Spotify?

If it's only for music, then Spotify hands down. Their playlists are like magic. Unfortunately there's a caveat - the entire Warner Bros and Saregama catalog is missing in India. Spotify still haven't sorted out this licensing hassle with both labels even 9 months after launch and there's no word about when it will be resolved. Spotify's family plan is about 179/month.

OTOH Google carries the whole repertoire from multiple labels both overseas and Indian. Plus you get YT Music Premium and YT Premium which has some pretty decent serials including the one I am currently watching "Impulse". It is pretty similar to Netflix's Stranger Things dealing with paranormal incidents.

So if I had to go with just one it would be YT premium. It's a better deal overall.

Apple, Spotify, and YT Music all stream lossless audio upto 256 kbps AAC for Apple and 320 Kbps ogg vorbis/MP3 for Spotify and Google YTM. Best audio quality is Apple's AAC followed by Spotify and then YT. Sound quality is very good and you wont miss lossless audio streaming for the most part. You may also want to consider Amazon Prime Music.

...You may also want to consider Amazon Prime Music.

I use Spotify more for their podcast catalog than music. I get Wynk Music free with my Airtel postpaid plan, and have Prime Music/Video bundled with Amazon Prime.

Better half watches lots of hard-to-find old video content on YouTube, hence the confusion.

Does YouTube Music do podcasts, as well as say Spotify? If so, I can settle for slightly lower sound quality for a better all-in-one package.
