Hello Brett,

We have the (rather old) acoustimas 10 at my house and i'm rather unimpressed as well. Have a yamaha amp as well.

Heres a read on BOSE.

Also, please type in full words. SMS/Chat language is not allowed on Team-BHP

Thanks,
R

^^ If you read a few audio based forums on the net you will find them criticizing BOSE a lot. They call it expensive for the quality that they offer. There are quite a lot of other brands (don't remember which) which offer a better quality than BOSE at cheaper price.

yes i do agree ive made a mistake. but there's really not much i can do about that now. gettin an awefull resale price. so decided to upgrade it rather than loosing out too much on it. ive heard the Marantz SR 5001 along with the Def Tech Pro 1000 sub to be a killer add on for the bose. what do you guys think???????

A good receiver will cost close to 30k, an active sub about 25k. If your listening is more music, then a Wharfedale 150 would be sufficient. Denon amps are pretty good for laid back sound. Fits your budget as well, I guess.

Scrap your BOSE.

Spend your money on quality speakers rather than trying to improve a rotten speaker system by adding active subwoofer or upgrading your reciever.

Look for quality brands like Tannoy, B&W, KEF, Monitor Audio, Acoustic Energy etc.
