Help with Bluetooth Stereo Headset

Hey,

So I have this cool black shiny fancy phone which I've discovered has A2DP, or something to that effect. Well, anyway, my phone has the same firmware version as the Music Edition, so I figure it does.

So now I need a Bluetooth headset so I can look cool while lazing around the house (often), using public transport (sometimes), or running on the treadmill (yeah, right). Also this enables me to hear songs of my choice, as opposed to humming/singing them and scaring people away.

What I need is for the various gadget gurus and geeks to suggest a nice, sturdy pair of Bluetooth headphones I can buy. Cheap would be good, too. I was pretty impressed by a couple of Motorolas, one of which was the HT 820, but they keep dying so I couldn't listen long enough.

So, devarshi, Steer, and all you other phone phreaks, please give me good audio quality suggestions...

Motos are the best v1p3r. the model you mention is one of the best. The 6233 does have A2DP and will support stereo sound. the sound wont be as good as a wired one but acceptable if your not an audiophile.

I would recommend the Jabra BT 500, I use it's precursor BT 250 & have been very satisfied with the sound quality & battery life. What really swung me for the Jabra was that the piece goes behind your ear & does not hang on top of it. The hanging-on-ear headphones can be painful in extended usage as I discovered when I bought my first Nokia bluetooth handsfree.

However, I should warn you I do not hear music on my cell phone/handsfree so can't comment on the quality etc. while doing that!

Peeps, kindly don't hijack my thread with Okhlis! I need advice on this, and you people are going on about phones twice as expensive, and FM radios too...

Vid, cheap deal, thanks. Cheap deal, I want a STEREO headset dude. Not a handsfree kit. Music-vusic types, as Yeti would say.

What exactly is a2dp? The Jensen headphone that i posted earlier claim they are universal for any handset, so i presume they will pair with the n73 too?

A2DP is a protocol for high quality audio (Mono/stereo) transmission between bluetooth devices. Here's a list of all A2DP compatible phones

todays phones which support bluetooth need to have

1. for basic stereo support the phone should have A2DP. This is "Advanced Audio Distribution profile." IT enables bluetooth phones to send stereo signals via bluetooth when a supporting headset is connected and music is played.

2. AVRP profile. This is "Audio Video Remote profile." This lets a stereo headset with remote buttons to control the player on the phone wirelessly.

Almost each and every bluetooth stereo headset comes with remote control buttons.

some of the stereo bluetooth headsets you are looking for are

1. Motorola HT820
2. Jabara BT620
3. Siemens HHB-750
4. LG HBS-110
5. Blue ANt X5
6. Samsung SBH170
7. Sonyericsson DS970
8. NOkia BH-500
9. plantronics pulsar 590E
10. HTC S100

I can only vouch for 1,2,3 and 7 as I have used and sold them. About the rest I have no idea how they perform.

About your phone supporting Stereo Bluetooth I have heard that only 6233 music edition has stereo bluetooth support and not the normal 6233. I am not in India currently and so I cant really comment on the compatibility.

Hope that helped.

Well I think I'll go and get a demo run again today.

Devarshi, which one would you recommend? My phone has the same firmware as the ME, and I tried the headphones, and they seemed to work.

Akshay, I will forgive you this time!
