Hi,
go for lacie.
I bought one for around 5k 4 months back
good stuff.
It has a great finish and burns well, with low memory usage.
Also uses the NEC DVD drive inside the case.

cheers,
AB.

I have LG multi /dvd writer bought for 50£ around year back. Still doing great! This one is internal one with external casing. But the casing is done by LG as standard part. The adapter was blown away. Now using my battery recharger aadaptor.

To each his own.
Its like buying a cycle, attaching a motor and thinking its a moto-bike.

I used to use internal sony dvd-writer with an external casing. Recommend to use only at low write speeds for error free writes. Also used to cause problems sometimes in detection . I guess it was a laptop issue but given a choice i would shell out some bucks extra and go for an external dvd writer rather than make a external writer internal. The driver of the external dvd writer is specially made for this purpose and give u much better performance as compared to an internal dvd writer (made external)
.
