^^^Guess you are right. Don't recall any phones without cam which have all the other frills. But I guess you should be able to get at least FM and MP3 in a non cam phone.

^^ Nokia C1-02 is not a dual sim phone. gsmarena meant there would be two models. Further, if at all the phone was dual sim, 850/1900 bands would not work in India.

You should either consider Nokia C2-00 or C1-00 for dual sims in India.

C2-00 has all the expected features but with camera.
C1-00 has none of the expected features (no cam) except for radio with 3.5mm jack.

Micromaxx seems to be on an advertisement barrage, but are their phones any good? Anyone?

Or for that matter, Lava, Karbonn and all the other new-entrants ?

A friend of mine bought one of these, looks like Blackberry, costs ~Rs. 3k. Works.

But one major thing I found it to be lacking was refinement. Camera was there. But I'd rather not click pics than click one with it. The pixels were way too big.

It looks similar to E63, and I've tried both of them, but you don't get the assurance you get while pressing a button on an E63, or any phone of any reputed manufacturer.

Not used one myself, but I guess they are amongst the better smaller manufactures. A couple of people I know use them are are fairly satisfied (IIRC it was a Q5). Some of them even have a trackball, and it makes for very fast and slick navigation. Finish also seemed pretty good. According to the owners, the cam quality is below par... and that was the only major drawback. Sound quality thru external speakers was really good (for a mobile ph). But both of them are fairly new... so can't comment on durability.

Re: Dual Sim Card Mobiles

Hasnt anyone tried this phone , Motorolla Starling :

Motorola Starling EX115 Price In India: Buy Motorola Starling EX115: Price, Reviews: Flipkart Mobiles (Titanium)
Motorola Starling EX115 Price In India: Buy Motorola Starling EX115: Price, Reviews: Flipkart Mobiles (White)

available in black and white colours . From a reputed brand , motorolla . I have this and a galaxy . When i was using the dual SIm mode I found this phone pretty good . Awesome battery life . But the OS on the phone is same as those found on the micromax phones , the cheap chinese OS . The bluetooth doesnt connect to anything at all . Camera is pretty good for the price you pay . Very durable . Body is finger print proof and pretty much scratch proof . All in all a prety good phone , valure for money .

If you are really looking for Chinese phones with push email feature, then Lava A9 is better than the MVL one. It has dual Sim, dual standby as well. Not too sure whether its GSM-GSM or GSM-CDMA.

Re: Dual Sim Card Mobiles

I am done with the round of using chinese mobiles - first some unknown brand and then micromax - and now back to old time fav brands like Nokia/HTC.

The advantage you get is dual-sim. Other than that, all other features - be it camera, or bluetooth or wifi or user interface or keypad .... - are all below expectations when compared to your prev phone (which in most cases, will be a nokia).

I had a Nokia E63 and moved to micromax Q7 after losing it. I got carried away from the TV ads. for Q7 and purchased it. Within a day, I could see the limitations - very poor wifi, limit of 512 characters for msgs or email, not soo good keypad. Stayed with it for a few months & now dumped it for a HTC and old time samsung (for 2 sims which I had - 2 separate phones).

If you need just 2 sim function, go for these phones. If you need anything more, forget it.
