Re: Pulse Oximeter recommendations?

Based on reviews, a friend ordered Dr. Vaku branded Oximeter from here.

We were really breathless (happily hypoxic, I may say) when a random experiment corroborated Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose's findings, and then some .

I feel its a good quality product compared to what is available in the market including the medical shops. Fit and finish is also much better and came with batteries.

2 months since and its working all good.

Would definitely suggest this one as one of the best budget oximeter.
I use a BPL Air Purifier since many years, and it certainly feels medical/hospital grade quality all around in design and quality of components fit and finish - for an Indian product, I am impressed! While it looks like the components are obtained from China to their specifications I really trust that brand to meet medical grade standards now.

Didn’t know they have pulse oximeters as well, thanks for the tip!
Currently I use a Huawei health band since a few years which has a red and green laser to read SPO2. While I trust it enough, recently when I fell sick I wanted to cross-check and all the market offerings l came across looked like duds for the price.

I dont know about the acharya but I do genuinely believe that a medical instrument is designed to be used a certain way. There are two quality parameters:
Accuracy: measuring as close to actual as possible.
Precision: measuring similar readings when tested multiple times on a test object of a particular value or parameter.

If you wish to know the accuracy of the device, you have to compare the readings with some other device having known accuracy.

If you want to know the precision, take multiple readings in a few minutes without changing posture, doing exercise etc.

Also, have a reading of this page:
